## About

### Houzz Badges

- 10,000 Ideabook Saves

Desmone Architects began in 1958 when Principal Charles L. “Luke” Desmone joined the firm of his uncle, John Desmone. We’ve grown from a small family-owned business to become one of Pittsburgh’s premier design firms. Our team of architecture and interior design professionals is lead by Luke Desmone, his son Chip Desmone, and Principals Eric Booth, Thea Martin, Travis Kreidler, and Brad Frankhouser.

Our firm’s greatest strength is our dedication to service. We believe our role is to design for our clients’ needs, not our own. We listen intently to the needs and desires of our clients and help them to develop a project’s vision. Our extensive knowledge and skills allow us to transform that vision to reality.

At Desmone, we believe that our firm offers several advantages that are worthy of consideration. We are aware of the essential qualities that make a space efficient and welcoming. We are committed to solving difficult issues that may arise during a project. We are patient, reassuring and really listen to hear the needs and desires of our clients through a design process that is collaborative yet challenges accepted paradigms. Finally, we understand the importance of cost-conscious design.

Successful projects, in our minds, use limited resources wisely and create places that people will embrace and make their own.

**★★★★★ — Mark and Elaine, Nov. 2018**

> We hired Desmone Architects for our home renovation project which included an addition and total gutting and remodeling of the entire first floor (kitchen, master bedroom/bathroom suite, great room, flooring, wet bar, lighting plan, etc.)
>
> At the start of our project, we had several meetings with Nancy Policicchio (Associate and Architect in charge of residential projects) to discuss our thoughts, provide examples of what we liked/didn't like, how we would use the space, etc. Two of our main goals was to make sure the addition looked as if it was part of the original house and the overall remodel design was more modern. She listened to everything we had to say, asked lots of questions (including things we would have never thought about) and took pages of notes.
>
> We are extremely pleased that our goals were more than met. Nancy designed an addition that is architecturally interesting, beautiful and no one would ever know it was put on after the house was built. The interior design is exactly the look we were going for but even better than we could have imagined.
>
> Nancy is awesome (as well as Megan Watson, Interior Designer). They had excellent ideas, provided options based on what we told them, did not push us one way or the other but gave us their honest opinion.
>
> They were all about attention to detail and the highest quality for the best price. They treated us as if we were their only clients and our money as if it were their own. Nancy connected us with a general contractor that was super and we never thought we would say those words because we have had our nightmares with contractors.
>
> Nancy and Megan were very "hands on" and extremely responsive to questions and concerns. If something wasn't right, they insisted it was redone to meet their high standards. They will always have your best interest at heart.
>
> Megan did an excellent job in helping us select finishes, furniture, window treatments and accessories that complimented and enhanced the overall design.
>
> We wouldn't hesitate for one second to recommend Nancy, Megan or Desmone Architects. Because of them our home is absolutely gorgeous and they made what could have been a stressful and painful process pleasurable.

> They are an outstanding Architectural firm that works both commercially and residentially. They have helped to transform one of Pittsburgh's most exciting and culturally unique up and coming neighborhoods with a variety of projects - Lawrenceville, PA. They are historically preservation minded with an eye to the future which gives them a wonderful talent for bringing together the old and the new into a cohesive and exciting new neighborhood development. I am a developer in a sister neighborhood who already had an architect when I started my project, but when asked by others for a reference I gladly gave them Desmone and Associates Architects. I also worked with them as a lighting vendor on several projects and was able to see their work first hand.
