They came and cut out the old sod, prepped the ground, and laid the new sod expertly. The lawn edges were cut so precisely, no edges or corners missed, and the quality of the sod looks great. There was a drain pipe running under the sod too, so while I have no way of knowing if that was left in working condition, I assume by the great care and attention to detail they showed on the sod, that it is likely in great shape too. > > I would highly recommend Merrifield's Landscaping Services. While they tend to be more expensive than other companies, their quality is better as well. I do recommend that if you have them come out to give you a quote that you make sure they take accurate measurements for the quote so nothing changes between the first visit and final cost. The area being re-sodded for us ended up being larger than what the original estimator thought, thus a higher price, but Merrifield honored the first quote. So responsive, our consultant moved up the date for our project in order to accommodate an event we were hosting at our house. They completed the project with two days to spare! There was a drainage issue that was overlooked until we experienced heavy rains and realized this particular area was a problem. I called Merrifield--the crew returned to fix the problem--no questions asked, no hesitation whatsoever. In the past, we have used less reputable landscapers before (in an effort to save money) and what we learned is it is much better to spend a little more money up front and do the job right the first time then end up spending extra money correcting issues created by the less reputable company. I will certainly use Merrifield again if we have additional work that needs to be completed.
