> Bonnie did an excellent job designing a patio / garden layout to tie together 3 levels around our house and guest studio in Newberg. She came up with some great ideas for hardscape and some changes to the building exterior that made the spaces much more attractive and functional. We especially appreciated her recommendations for what to plant and how she worked with the landscaper to keep the project on track.

> Bonnie revitalized our landscaping to fit an addition to the house and the entryway. The results are fantastic and our friends are extremely complementary. We strongly recommend her services.

> Bonnie was a delight to work! The ultimate professional, she is a very knowledgeable master gardener and landscape designer, able to answer all my questions and make excellent suggestions for my landscape plan. She even went to the nursery with me to look at specific plants to help finalize the design! Her landscape design came in on time and on budget and I look forward to her supervision of my landscape project this spring.

> Bonnie provided us with excellent guidance and a beautiful design for our backyard. I especial like that she is available to troubleshoot long after the initial project is complete!

> I have known Bonnie for close to 15 years and appreciate the creativity, poise and professionalism that she brings to every project. Bonnie is thorough with her pre-design analysis, listens exceptionally well, and an overall joy to work with.

> Bonnie was terrific! She spent time understanding my vision for my yard, both curbside appeal and backyard usage for relaxation and food production. The project included removing and replacing almost all plantings in both front and back yard, building a patio and walkway, and installing raised bed gardens and an irrigation system. The plan she provided gives me four-season color and interest, is relatively low maintenance, is resource efficient, and has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of the space. Many of my neighbors have made a point of telling me how much they are appreciating the new look. Bonnie produced a detailed plan for use by the landscapers as well as a plant list including photos and information about each plant for my future reference. She interfaced with the landscaper and was on site to supervise plant placement and answer questions. I enjoyed working with Bonnie and would certainly recommend her and/or hire her again for future projects.

> Celilo Gardens did a fabulous job for us! Bonnie listened to my husband and I, and somehow accommodated us both in what we were looking for. The finished landscaping looks gorgeous and sets off the look and feel of our house. Bonnie at Celilo Gardens is very knowledgeable, timely, professional, and yet relaxed and fun to work with! We are SO HAPPY with the plans she provided. Now that it is finished our front & back yards are stunning, and even came in under the approximate pricing she gave us. I have and will continue to recommend her for your project!

> Bonnie Bruce, of Celilo Gardens, did the design work on our front yard renovation. This included extensive discussions with me and my wife to explore what we wanted, how the hard- and softscape would integrate, and details on the plantings. We found Bonnie to be very helpful. She was able to make suggestions on specific elements, and to conceptualize the entire project such that we could select a contractor to perform the work. She also helped on the selection of the contractor, but left that final decision to us. We were very pleased with the process, and the end result is spectacular. Exactly what we expected from a very knowledgeable and professional landscape architect who is conversant with the growth needs of the individual plants and how they would mature. Highly recommended.

- [Suburban Retreat](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/suburban-retreat-pj-vj~882157)
  - Location: Beaverton, OR

  - Description: Clients came to Celilo Gardens with the desire to improve the function of their back yard. An underused fire pit was improved by re-designing the area and screening it to create more of a sense of a room. A new deck was designed for entertaining and to hold a hot tub. The vegetable garden was contained with new retaining walls to make the best use of vertical space in the side yard. Art and Asian elements were woven into the design.... a temple bell, a stainless steel sculpture hung in a modifie…
- [The Niche Garden](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/the-niche-garden-pj-vj~2633734)
  - Location: Lake Oswego, OR

  - Description: This was the "Ugly Duckling" corner by the front door in an established garden. But with some hardscaping, new plantings, a little seating, a bubbling water feature , custom fused glass by a local artist and some night lighting, it was transformed into a lovely shady spot to pause and enjoy an underused view of the garden.

  - Location: Portland, OR

  - Description: A very important element in any garden is water. The presence and the sound of the water not only can create audio privacy but water attracts and supports pollinators, birds and other wildlife. A water feature can be as simple as a container of standing water or as elaborate as a koi pond. Images here are from several gardens in the Greater Portland Area.
- [Hillsboro Front Garden](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/hillsboro-front-garden-pj-vj~882189)
  - Location: Hillsboro, OR
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: This suburban front garden was designed to be low maintenance and high impact. By using a few of the existing mature plants in the design the garden had a footprint immediately. The old pond was re-located and re-built and re-designed for a more functional and contemporary look. The screen was strategically placed to give the front of the house and the garden another layer and increase privacy from the street.
- ["Artful" Urban Garden](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/artful-urban-garden-pj-vj~882220)
  - Location: Portland, OR
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: Every garden benefits from carefully chosen, well placed art. The images here are of art sprinkled through one large urban garden. Careful choices of art are important so individually and collectively they support the overall character of the garden. Careful placement is important so each piece does not compete with another piece, makes the best use of sun or shade or overwhelms the garden entirely.
