A: The bottom of the pieces are open and are not designed for storage.

A: Each tile weighs approximately 10 lbs and covers 1 square foot and is acceptable to install on any structurally sound deck or roof.  thank you for your interest.  The base of the deck tiles are made from PVC plastic with no exposed sharp edges.
