> Katherine of Stage Hand is a great ally if you want to beautify your house, inside or out. She has an accurate eye for color and for arranging things artistically. She also has the ability to inexpensively tweak things from frumpy to trendy! I thought I needed all new kitchen cabinets. Instead we were able to remove some, stain some and paint some. Now I love my kitchen and we saved a lot of expense. I give her five stars for honoring my requests and delivering something fabulous! Plus, she's a pleasure to work with and be with!

> i would give Katherine 5 stars + if I could. She staged my house for sale and she also helped me decorate and make minor repairs at my new home. Katherine listened to what I thought I needed and helped me set priorities, and, most important, she helped me execute our plan. The proof of her good work is that my house was sold the same day it was put on the market.

> Katherine Spetner staged our home which we then sold for $3million, even more than we expected!
> She was able to use a mixture of our existing furniture with items that she sourced. I was impressed how quickly she worked out which furnishings would show our home at its best. Katherine has a great eye for colors and what to include to create the right mood.
> She arranged repainting of the entire house, electrical work, some plumbing work, garden pruning and power washing of the tennis court. She is a talented designer, hard working and altogether a pleasure to work with!

**★★★★★ — Denise Rabinovitch, June 2017**

> If you’re looking for an excellent designer, I am recommending Katherine Spetner of Stage Hand. She understood what I needed. Simply put, she has a great eye! That includes suggesting paint colors, editing current belongings, arranging furniture and hanging artwork to make our home lovely and comfortable. She is fun and easy to work with. Thanks, Katherine!

> I was between tenants with my rental home in San Diego. It needed updating. Katherine Spetner of Stage Hands came to my rescue!
>
> She looked closely at the weaknesses of the property and came up with really creative solutions.
>
> For example she
> \- installed extra masonry and a mantel for the fireplace so it went from awkward to beautiful.
> \- restored some ugly yellowing resin-like bathroom counters using a Canadian product, to provide a new hard finish like white quartz stone.
> \- looked at signs of settlement in the house and suggested replacing the irrigated planters around the house with non-irrigated.
> Now we have beautiful rocks, gold gravel, grasses and agaves.. and it looks like no more settlement!
>
> The work was on time and on budget.
> I highly recommend Katherine Spetner for all staging and interior needs.
> I give her a 10 for communication, creativity and hard work!

  - Description: 660 square feet is the size of this small apartment in the Bay Area. We wanted to stage the space with two bedrooms. By installing a barn door and curtain we were able to make a queen bed nook in the former breakfast area. The space is all white with an olive headboard to connect with the mass of greenery outside. Vietnamese encaustic tile is used extensively in the adjacent kitchen.
- [CASUAL LUXURY CONDO](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/casual-luxury-condo-pj-vj~2606920)

  - Description: The budget allowed us to purchase beautiful pieces. At the same time the homeowner did not want anything too formal or stuffy. The eclectic style mixes traditional and mid century pieces. We're happy to report that everyone feels comfortable enough to put their feet up on the coffee table!
- [MOD URBAN SPACE](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/mod-urban-space-pj-vj~2545810)
  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: We were asked to furnish this space to attract maximum renter interest. Our staging paid off because everyone who came to the open house wanted to rent it. The selected tenant liked the staging so much that it was rented furnished! Orange and turquoise were used here to good effect because colors enliven photos. And potential renters were drawn to the open house because of the online photos.

  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: The owners asked to stage this home with a mixture of existing furniture and rented furniture. Many belongings were removed to produce this open, eclectic design. But in the end we had plenty of space and light, which is exactly what most homebuyers want!

  - Description: The 'Santa Monica Arts B & B' is the name of this hotel. My job was to furnish it in a way that artists from anywhere in the world would feel creative and comfortable. Apart from the furnishings, light fixtures and artwork, I designed the tile in the bathrooms. And the landscape is my design AND installation.
- [70s SKI CONDO](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/70s-ski-condo-pj-vj~2545765)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: We were asked make this 70s space current. The bathroom is a total stripped-to-studs redo. The kitchen on the other hand did not require much. The new counters are quartz, the cabinets were repainted and given new hardware. One of the challenges was providing excellent lighting with steep and high ceilings. We used modern linear chandeliers on very long wires!
