**Q: Shower wall disaster-advice from Pros please.** *(in Building a Home)*

We are having a new house built and it has been one mishap after another.  After having the shower glass installed I discovered the pony wall isn’t square.  Advice on how to handle this please from a professional‘s perspective?

A: It does not matter what kind of build this is. The angle of the wall  is unacceptable and there is no easy fix. The builder needs to straighten the wall.

**Q: height of valve and diverter** *(in Plumbing)*

We're almost ready to do plumbing and aren't sure how high to set the valve and diverter for the handheld along with the handheld and the showerhead.  I like to put a chlorine filter attachment on my showerhead but they reduce water pressure and my color, champagne bronze, will prob be difficult to match so I might or might not use a filter, but if I do that will take up another 4-5".  I'm 5'6".  I have children but they'll grow up someday.  :)  Are there recommended heights and other things I might not be thinking of like needing to be able to reach the showerhead to change settings...?  thx!

A: You need to ask a plumber in your area. There are building codes for the placement of certain plumbing fixtures.

**Q: Does this shower construction look good?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We're looking for someone to build a tiled shower with a shower base. This contractor was recommended on Next Door. These photos of his work were on his Facebook page. I see it's a Kerdi shower. Is there anything that doesn't look right?

A: The drywall prep looks good and no problem with the drywall cut just above the flange. 
I think the company did a good job.

I would not worry about people complaining about the wall might leak here or there. Water takes the path of the least resistance. As long as you inspect your shower annually and fix any places that have missing grout your shower should last a long time. Also don't for get to take the shower handle trim plate off to inspect the valve for leaks every year.

We usually use aqua board (green or blue drywall).  Schluter in our opinion is just a gimmick. As soon as the people the make changes to the building code say we need to use Schluter or similar then we will change.
