From my first Quantam House that year, through the many projects I've led since then, I've sought to bring that pedigree of fine craftsmanship to each project. Like buying a wedding ring, building your dream home can be an incredibly stressful and scary prospect. What I love most about my work is the chance to walk my clients through this journey, and to produce something they and their family will enjoy forever. It is the relationships I've developed over the years with these clients, and the memories I've been able to share with them, that I am most proud of in my career. ### Services Provided - New Home Construction - Custom Homes - Home Remodeling - Home Additions - Home Extensions - Energy-Efficient Homes - Guesthouse Design & Construction - Multigenerational Homes - Green Building - Pool House Design & Construction - Home Restoration - Barn Design & Construction - Log Home Construction - Modular Home Construction - General Contracting - Kitchen Remodeling - Luxury Home ### Areas Served - Nashville - Memphis - Madison - Bartlett - Collierville - Germantown - Goodlettsville - Lakeland - Cordova - Millington - Belle Meade - Piperton - Eads - Oakhill - Old Hickory - Olive Branch - Southaven ### Typical Job Cost $400,000 - 3 million ## Business Details | Field | Value | | --- | --- | | Business Name | Lowell Hays Construction | | Address | Germantown, Tennessee 38138, United States | | Phone | (901) 301-6492 | | Website | http://www.lowellhaysconstruction.com | | License Number | TN 49995 | | Followers on Houzz | 12 | **Social profiles:** - Facebook — https://www.facebook.com/lowellhaysconstruction/ - Blog — https://www.lowellhaysconstruction.com ## Contact - **Houzz profile:** [Lowell Hays Construction](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/home-builders/lowell-hays-construction-pfvwus-pf~187281850) - **Website:** http://www.lowellhaysconstruction.com - **Phone:** (901) 301-6492 ## Credentials **Certifications & Awards** - Masonry Institute of Tennessee Award of Excellence in Masonry 2008 - First Place - **Best of Houzz:** 1 award (2019), for Service. ## Reviews **Overall rating: 5.0 out of 5 — 9 reviews** ### All 9 reviews **★★★★★ — HU-550166979, Oct. 2018** > Worked with Lowell Hays a few years ago for several major home projects. I have been very pleased with the quality of the workers he provided & supervised as well as his hands on approach to many of our project needs. Lowell was always accessible. Always ready and willing to discuss any thoughts or concerns. And Lowell was also a valuable resource for recommendations to handle projects outside of his expertise. I have not hesitated to recommend him to others. And additionally, when new and different concerns have surfaced over the subsequent years, I appreciate being able to contact Lowell and he has always followed up with me to help me resolve whatever the issue might be. Lowell is very professional, very reliable, very timely in completion of projects, and provides the highest quality of work product. **★★★★★ — E Stewart, Sept. 2018** > After much deliberation, my husband and I decided to renovate our home which was built in 1974. Having heard of many nightmare stories about renovations and remodeling, admittedly we were a little apprehensive. We conducted months of research and through divine intervention, were directed to Lowell Hays Construction Company. We held several informational meetings with Lowell Hays. His body of work and references spoke volumes, leading us to select his company to deliver our dream of a beautiful home! > > We have been most impressed with Lowell’s professionalism, knowledge, and craftsmanship. These attributes proved to be very helpful, especially when we charted areas in which my husband and I lacked expertise. Open lines of communication were established and maintained throughout the project to avoid surprises and develop trust. Lowell personally managed our project on a daily basis to ensure the product would be pleasing to us. He has an eye for details, quality, and precision and expects the same from his crew. > > Our project has now been completed. We are pleased beyond measure with the outcome, never imagining our home would look this great. Would we recommend Lowell Hays Construction Company? Yes, in a heartbeat! We could not have made a better choice. **★★★★★ — Harry Orr, Sept. 2018** > In 2014 Lowell built a farmhouse for my family in Hardeman County, Tennessee, about an hour drive east of Memphis. My family and I live and work in Memphis so we could not be at the construction site every day. It was imperative to find a quality builder we could trust to build our farmhouse as if it were his own. Lowell went beyond our expectations. The quality of the craftsmen he employs are second to none. Lowell kept us informed through each phase of the project patiently answering all our questions and advising us on decisions we needed to make. I can honestly say I never felt any significant stress and enjoyed to entire building project from start to finish. Even after four years, Lowell is readily available and willing to help us with any questions that come up. We now have a beautiful farmhouse that we love and enjoy and will be in our family for generations to come. **★★★★★ — Sam Hezlep, Sept. 2018** > In addition to his demonstrated professionalism and reputation, I can without hesitation, endorse Lowell Hays as a businessman of integrity; focused totally on expert craftsmanship, attention to detail, and all aspects of client satisfaction. While designing and constructing my extensive deck and screen room project, Lowell orchestrated a selection of highly skilled subcontractors; leading to the high quality of his finished product. Those who have seen the completed project have expressed being truly impressed and have repeatedly expressed their approval. Lowell is a very hands on and responsive contractor who possesses his own personal creative and forward thinking artistic skills; able to translate those skills to an aesthetically pleasing and functional finished product. My construction was completed in a timely manner, on budget target, and I highly recommend you contract Lowell Hays Construction for your next building or remodeling project. **★★★★★ — Margie Bell, Sept. 2018** > I hired Lowell almost two years ago to build a small addition on my house: a walk-in closet, a laundry room and a sunroom. I couldn't be happier with the leadership he provided in organizing and overseeing every step of the construction. He made sure I was happy with the work at every step, and willingly answered my questions. I've recommended him to several friends, and gladly will again. Thank you, Lowell!! **★★★★★ — Sheila Harrell, July 2018** > Lowell Hays Construction was hired to create a resort atmosphere in a very bland neighborhood backyard space. The craftsmanship and artistry skills with elegant design abilities are proficient characteristics that Lowell Hays brings to every project. His laser attention to detail, focus on high quality deliverables completed on time and on budget makes him an outstanding professional for any construction opportunity. The completed project exemplifies a magical space that gave us a vacation atmosphere everyday! Hire Lowell Hays. He will deliver beyond expectation! **★★★★★ — washdryandfold, July 2018** > Recently I used Lowell Hays construction to update the exterior of our house. He said he would spiff it up, and that’s exactly what he did, and we were so pleased. We got a new roof, fresh paint, porch remodel, new lights, and a new walkway. I had some ideas when I first consulted with him, and he used them and improved upon them. Lowell was pleasant to work with, responded quickly to texts, emails, or phone calls. Now my house looks great and badly needs landscaping; Lowell was kind enough to give me recommendations for landscapers. > > I have some interior projects I want done, and I will not hesitate to call Lowell Hays to do those. **★★★★★ — Mark Conger, Feb. 2018** > Lowell remodeled our 19 year old home from top to bottom ($100,000+). His cost estimates were put down in a very fair contract and the quality of the work was outstanding. Lowell helped us with decisions and connected us with experts to answer all of our questions. Whenever we inspected the work with Lowell as the work progressed he would note every little thing that wasn't perfect and have it fixed. Quick to answer our texts and phone calls he kept us in the loop and was honest about what was going on. Our personal belongings were in the house during the remodel and every one of his workers was careful to protect our things and nothing was misplaced or stolen. I personally enjoyed the process and have often thought about buying a rental house and having Lowell remodel it. **Comment from Lowell Hays Construction:** > Thanks for your kind words. I enjoyed working with you. **★★★★★ — Sue Berry, Feb. 2018** > We built our house with Lowell in 2001 and it was a wonderful, creative experience. Lowell is very detailed oriented and he wants to be sure you get what you want. He knows how to make your budget work and achieve the look you are going for. He works with high quality subcontractors and expects nothing but superior workmanship. Over the years, Lowell has helped us add to our property and is always there with support and contacts to maintain and enhance your home. I'd build/remodel with him again!! **Comment from Lowell Hays Construction:** > Thank you for your comment. I've thoroughly enjoyed working with you over the years. ## Selected projects - [Expansive Pool House & Entertaining Area](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/expansive-pool-house-and-entertaining-area-pj-vj~3137324) - Location: Germantown, TN - Photos: 12 - [Contemporary Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-home-pj-vj~2810710) - Location: Germantown, TN - Photos: 7 - [Traditional Memphis Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/traditional-memphis-home-pj-vj~2810715) - Location: Memphis, TN - Photos: 3 - [Hickory Valley Mediterranean Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/hickory-valley-mediterranean-kitchen-pj-vj~2897710) - Location: Hickory Valley, TN - Photos: 13 - [Expansive Custom Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/expansive-custom-home-pj-vj~2810723) - Location: Collierville, TN - Photos: 14 - [Open Concept Germantown Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/open-concept-germantown-home-pj-vj~2810717) - Location: Germantown, TN - Photos: 13 - [Traditional Mediterranean Entry](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/traditional-mediterranean-entry-pj-vj~2810720) - Location: Memphis, TN - Photos: 3 - [Cul-de-sac Dream Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/cul-de-sac-dream-home-pj-vj~3137331) - Location: Germantown, TN - Photos: 9 - [Transitional Open Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/transitional-open-kitchen-pj-vj~2810713) - Location: Middleton, TN - Photos: 6 - [Germantown Custom Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/germantown-custom-home-pj-vj~3137333) - Location: Germantown, TN - Photos: 14 - [Collierville Family Home & Pool House](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/collierville-family-home-and-pool-house-pj-vj~3137327) - Location: Germantown, TN - Photos: 11 - [Three Story Collierville Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/three-story-collierville-home-pj-vj~2810714) - Location: Collierville, TN - Photos: 13 - [Wrap-around Deck Addition in Germantown](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/wrap-around-deck-addition-in-germantown-pj-vj~3892125) - Location: Germantown, TN - Photos: 9 - [Innovative Germantown Custom Family Residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/innovative-germantown-custom-family-residence-pj-vj~3766533) - Location: Germantown, TN - Photos: 11 - [Senior Living Condo Remodel](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/senior-living-condo-remodel-pj-vj~3156746) - Location: Memphis, TN - Photos: 1 [See all 15 projects](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/home-builders/lowell-hays-construction-pfvwus-pf~187281850) ## Ideabooks - [Hoods](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/153934628/list/hoods) — 5 ideas - [Deck](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/140027466/list/deck) — 11 ideas - [Master Bath](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/137218703/list/master-bath) — 24 ideas - [Hays Bathroom](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/131251272/list/hays-bathroom) — 1 idea - [Costabile](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/131086493/list/costabile) — 23 ideas - [Wright Bath](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/121022174/list/wright-bath) — 20 ideas [See all 6 ideabooks](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/users/lhays3) ## Community Q&A **Q: What color are the shutters please?** *(in Photo Questions)* Thanks A: Hi Patty! Glad you like the shutters. Unfortunately, this house was completed in 2005, and I don't have the exact color mat anymore. I can tell you it was a Sherwin Williams paint (link), completed with a glaze on top. The color in these pictures has slightly faded since it's original coat. Hopefully this is helpful, and best of luck with your project! --- *Source: Houzz professional profile. Reflects the profile as of 2026-11-05.*
