I am an interior designer, and my husband is a metal contractor, so essentially we are well versed in construction and renovation, having done many jobs between us. In spite of the fact that they do have very-good-to-excellent sub-contractors in their roster, their major detractor is that you can wind up getting “better jobbed.” > > This happened to us without so much as a word, or explanation from Dave Seeger, one of the company’s principles. Prior to that, we had asked him several times for proposals for different phases of said project, which were never forthcoming. > > One aspect to the job, was a brand new addition for a kitchen. Dave has asked us to wait a year before beginning this addition, until other projects in their pipeline were completed. We agreed because a) we appreciated their work, and b) because we trusted him implicitly. > > As HVP was finishing our last project, (a bay with a window seat in what is a now renovated reception room), it was apparently determined to end their working relationship with us, without so much as a word. It was never communicated to us, as to why, this decision was made. Seven months had gone by since we had been asked to wait one year before they could begin the new kitchen, wasting precious time. Had we known, we could have found another contractor and begun the work.
