> Scott and the team at Munn Architecture designed a custom home for us to fit on a restrictive difficult lake front site. We had many more wants than our budget would allow but they did a great job helping us get the most we could within our budget. They started the process by learning a much as possible about our lifestyle, needs and wants. They are very knowledgable about the issues in mountain building. We are thrilled with the final plans. The house is currently under construction with completion estimated for early summer 2017. The photos are from approximately 3 months into construction.

> We selected Munn Architecture (Grandby, CO) to design our Grand Lake mountain retreat constructed by Mountain Top Builders (Tabernash, CO) during 2011-2012.
> Our original conception of the structure was traditional in most respects. The Munn team made major suggestions which included (1) the placement of the structure on our lot to give the optimum heat benefit of the sun, (2) optimum view from the living room and the wide balcony, (3) the exterior of the structure which melts very well into the surroundings, (4) efficient use of floor space and (5) high ceiling with maximal windows providing ample light year-round.
> We were especially thankful for Munn’s suggestion for the re-use of Wyoming snow fence for the major component of the exterior. This was complemented with a wall of metal on the lower part of the exterior which naturally rusted over the first couple of years.
> The overall result of the design and construction of the mountain retreat is a very efficient and in our eyes beautiful building which provides us with great pleasure and encourages us to spend a significant portion of our time enjoying life in the mountains.

> Thanks for your work and concept on the design. When we initially met and had this vague idea of what we wanted -- something different than traditional mountain, use some industrial materials. You then designed a home we could not have conceived that we are absolutely thrilled with. I know we debated scale when we were trying to reduce the cost and I am happy that we ended up where we did. The scale is not too big, and feels comfortable. And I think we would have regrets now if we had stuck to a smaller footprint. We also really like all the different outdoor spaces and although we have only had a couple weeks at the house, we have used all of them at different times.

> Scott and Bradley assumed we were bringing an easy job to the table to provide cover to our deck facing the windy and sunny south west. The project was much more complex than initially thought but both worked hard to achieve our goals. We were very happy with the finish product - very functional and it looks like the addition was part of the initial house design, not an add on.

> Highly recommend Munn Architecture to anyone wishing architectural design in Grand County - or elsewhere for that matter.

> Working with Scott Munn and his team has been a great experience. Not only do they design beautiful structures, but are the friendliest group of people that you could meet. We selected Munn Architecture because of Scott's knowledge of the history of the Grand Lake area, the challenges of building on Jericho Road, and the factors needing to be considered when designing a boathouse. On top of that knowledge, his aesthetic pays respect to the history and environment in which we are building. During the design process his team was very responsive, respectful and skilled at opening your eyes to new ideas that you may not have previously considered. Scott was also helpful in that he is very familiar with the logistics and permits needed during the process, and knows the specific individuals in the County that we needed to speak to, in order to move things forward. We are very pleased with the beautiful plan for our future home, and can't wait until it is built and we can enjoy it for many years to come! - Jackie & Todd Coker

> I had purchased woody lake property North of Grand Lake. My family had decided to build a vacation home and didn't know the best way to start. I received a list of well considered Grand Lake contractors from the Chamber of Commerce as a starting point. Of the 9 that I contacted , they all gave me a short list of architects that they had worked with or highly recommended. The common thread was Munn Architecture but most said they were so busy that the chance of working with them slim. When I contacted Munn I was only looking for general cost into knowing they were already booked. I ended talking directly with Scott who couldn't have been nicer and more considerate. He worked us in to his design team, met with use many times at the construction site and even provided a short list of top contractors in the Grand Lake region. That was several months ago and the design is proceeding on schedule. Scott also went out of his was to assist and advise on many other disciplines needed from tree clearing to dock leads. He and his organization has gone out of their way in to meet the needs and timing of input from 10 family members ( 6 adults 4 little kids only wanting a tree house) . They are flexible , creative, professional, with a sense of humor that can take the stress out of what can be a complicated process. You hire a architect and find a friend with a in house support that guides and always has time for the layman questions.

> Scott Munn, and his team at Munn Architecture, offer the essence of a Colorado experience. Their work combines a reverence for natural surroundings and a thoughtful, philosophical approach to design with modern sensibilities, cutting edge materials and well thought through processes. MA designs houses that are livable art-pieces. We are so happy to work with them!

> Munn Architecture designed a woodshop, office and craft room building for us. The challenge was to make it look like the main house built 15 years ago, yet use modern techniques and materials. The result was superb and yet affordable.

> We have worked with Scott Munn on several projects, beginning in 2005. On each project we enjoyed the process of working with Scott. He was enthusiastic, creative, and interested in listening to our needs. Our buildings are each unique, but flow together to create a perfect mountain retreat. We finished our final building in 2013. His attention to detail is outstanding, and everywhere we look in our homes there is a beautiful, unique touch. We have recommended Scott to many clients, and will continue to do so without hesitation.

> We are very happy with the design of our new lake home in Colorado. Munn Architecture did an amazing job of bringing light and views of the lake into every room. In addition, they listened to our suggestions and made necessary corrections to meet our needs. When you view our home, you can tell the level of professionalism that went into its design. It is a one of a kind on the lake.

> We have had the opportunity to utilize Munn Architecture's services both personally and for our business. Scott and his team worked relentlessly with our general contractor and all of the subcontractors, to complete the design and build out of our fitness facility, Mountain Life Fitness, LLC in Granby, Colorado.
>
> The design, consultation and detail were instrumental in the successful completion of this project and the opening of our business on time in June 2014. I would hire Munn Architecture again for future projects, in fact we have Scott working on an additional design for our business and would highly recommend Scott and his team to anyone in pursuit of an excellent architecture firm.

> We are about to move into our new mountain house and we would absolutely use Munn Architecture again but unfortunately we love the finished product so much I'm not sure we will ever have a need. The key fact that sticks out to us is, after touring many many homes by various architects before and after we selected Munn, we feel we got a 6 star house without paying an arm and a leg. Munn's pricing was very transparent from the start of the project and very reasonable. We could have paid a lot more and we feel confident we would have got a lot less. Another key fact was that the entire process was extremely smooth and the finished product extremely detailed. I miss the design phase, talking to them on the phone as often as we wanted, tweaking details to get everything just the way we wanted, and getting new snapshots and 3D images frequently to help us make choices. The team at Munn Architecture came up with a variety of excellent design ideas but at the same time were very receptive to making sure it met our needs and lined up with our tastes. Since we broke ground, it seems like I lost touch with a good friend. They call occasionally to see how things are going and they stop by the house regularly to see how it is going but not much else has been necessary. This is a good thing. Munn Architecture has been prepared to offer whatever support is needed, it is just that my builder hasn't needed much support. He simply had to follow the detailed plans. Overall, choosing Munn Architecture was one of the best choices we have made on the project.
