> Initial quote was $500 per sq ft, after signing and beginning design, it went to $700, after the design and getting ready for build, it went to $860+. Rug pull sales tactics.

**★★★★★ — Chris Byers, Jan. 2013**

> Matthew has been incredible helpful in our research phase of building a home. They've got a good thing going up there in Belfast and more people want a home that is healthy and efficient. I hope that some day we can hire them!

  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: A gently sloping 3 acre, tree-rimmed hayfield is the site for this 2,100 square-foot, three-bedroom, certified Passive House residence. The house has been designed to accommodate a family with three young children, with the understanding that the home needs to be flexible and adaptable to keep up with the family’s changing needs over time. Given the rural surroundings, the clients were interested in building a house that was compatible with the surrounding New England vernacular, but, as their p…

  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: GO Logic has developed a construction solution for a seasonal residence that can be applied to remote locations, including the many beautiful and difficult-to-access islands off the coast of Maine. We have chosen an emerging construction technology, cross-laminated timber or CLT, that utilizes solid, structural, laminated wood components which are factory cut with great precision. By leveraging factory construction of building shell components, which greatly reduces on-site labor, we are develop…

  - Description: GO Logic recently completed the design and construction of a new high-performance, contemporary residence on the bluff of the Cousins River in Southern Maine. The residence sits in a clearing, providing ample passive solar gain, and surrounded by a wooded site at the edge of the Cousins River estuary. Beautiful views through the pine forest offer glimpses of the estuary and wildlife beyond. The residence is adapted from our single story, three-bedroom, 1,600 square foot pre-design and has been c…
- [Casco Bay Residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/casco-bay-residence-pj-vj~957066)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 8
  - Description: Casco Bay Residence is a highly energy-efficient, 1800 square foot, Y-shaped residence built on the existing footprint of the original home. Specific zoning regulations allowed for a 30% expansion of the existing structure, which was effectively utilized to improve the insulation values of the walls and ceiling, as the thickness of the new walls and ceilings required that area to maintain the existing usable floor area. Passive solar gain and triple-pane windows enhance the energy efficient qual…
- [Quincy Bay Residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/quincy-bay-residence-pj-vj~1306935)
  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: Located on an east-facing oceanfront lot in densely populated Quincy, Massachusetts, this custom-designed, single-family residence employs a traditional peaked roof form to fit in with the surrounding neighborhood, but still differentiates itself as a contemporary home.

  - Description: The Jung Haus, recipient of Fine Homebuilding's 2014 Best Energy-Smart Home, is a 2,300 square-foot, single-family residence with a detached garage and apartment. The home has been designed to meet the Passive House standard, and is the first certified Passive House in the state. Utilizing a Larson truss wall assembly and innovative detailing, this house will consume 90% less energy for space heating than a new code-compliant home. - [Cove End](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/cove-end-pj-vj~199538)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: Nestled on a south-facing, sloped site overlooking a bay in midcoast Maine, a 2,000 square-foot, two-story home makes the most of its small site and the stunning views surrounding it. The simple and compact building form, reflecting the classic, restrained midcoast peaked roof vernacular surrounding it, combined with an energy-efficient shell, results in a house that is an exceptionally comfortable sanctuary in a rough-and-tumble coastal environment.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What is the color of the metal roofing and the siding? Pairs well!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The metal roofing is a painted metal “galvalume” finish

The siding is a fiber cement clapboard with a custom painted gray color, a custom color match that the painter determined from another piece of material.

**Q: Is the standing seam metal roofing 16" or 12"? Thanks, Jason.** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The seams are 16” on the roof.

**Q: Where to buy this type of roof** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the design of this roof on this extension have a very tight budget is it cheaper than tiles and where can I buy this from

A: The cost of a standing seam metal roof varies based on several factors, mainly project location and available roofers capable of performing the work. Whether it is cheaper than tile would depend also on the cost of the tile you have in mind. Your local roofing subcontractor should be able to give you a price for a standing seam metal roof, or direct you to another roofer who can - it is not an off-the-shelf product.

**Q: Beautiful room.** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the square footage and ceiling height of this room and does the Morso 6140 warm up the space adequately? I'm building an 800 sq. ft. room with a vaulted ceiling and am trying to decide between the 6100 series and the 8100 series. Thank you.

A: Ceiling height is 12 ft at highest, 9 ft at lowest.

**Q: Siding** *(in Photo Questions)*

What were siding materials used on the project?

A: Certainteed Fiber Cement
Clapboard; Vertical Pine Shiplap Siding
(Garage)

**Q: Can you please tell me what the cost of this project was? Thank you** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello: I have a 1.4 acre property on Cape Cod with an existing structure that I am thinking of removing in order to rebuild. Are your plans, such as this one, customizable. I love your designs. thank you, Lita Ristuccia

A: Hi Rebecca! Thanks for reaching out to GO Logic. These plans were custom, however we have standard pre-designed plans that can be customized as well. You can view our pre-design house plans at http://www.gologic.us/pre-fab/house-plans/. T he cost/sq.ft. of custom construction is anywhere from $225-300/sq. ft.
