OUR HISTORY

Landmark Builders was founded in 1977 by Roger Kepner, an adult education instructor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Previously based in Maplewood for 17 years, Landmark Builders moved in 2004 to its current location in St. Louis City. Today, Landmark Builders has 15 employees and our clientele are located primarily in the central corridor of metropolitan St. Louis. The company retains membership in the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce, the Home Builders Association of Greater St. Louis and the National Association of Home Builders. In 2004, the Home Builders Association awarded Landmark Builders the “Thomas F. Aleto Award” for excellence in remodeling, and the “Hope and Homes Award” for dedication and leadership toward the construction of quality housing in 2005.

> We first worked with Landmark Builders in 2000.  We were doing a major 2-story addition to our home, making our 85 year old home wheelchair accessible.  They were prompt, professional, very respectful of the fact that we were living in the home during our project and were willing to take on the challenge of accessibility.  Everyone takes pride in the quality of their work and repeatedly took the inititative to make our project go smoothly. The only significant problem (a subcontractor) was made right promptly, no questions asked.  Our total project came in within 2% of the original bid.

**Q: Shower niche edge detail on the outside corners.** *(in Photo Questions)*

How was it finished?  45 tile? Trim piece??  Thanks.

A: We installed Carrara tiles on the sides and top of the niche with the front edges flush with the plane of the adjacent wall tile.
