Due to bad winter weather that we had in Georgia this year we overshoot the deadline. First of all, they stayed on/below budget which is always challenging on a sizeable home renovation. Secondly, at Fred's recommendation, we made several "on-the-fly" changes to the project and these are changes that we are so happy we made in hindsight and have made a big difference. These changes included specific changes to the site work (grading and wall material, etc.), spacial modifications, as well as architectural details (i.e. accenting with aged timbers). Again, even with the modifications, Fred was creative in keeping the project on budget. Fred and his crew are very thoughtful on the details of the project and will go above and beyond to ensure their client is happy. A little background…I have sold real estate for 12 years now and have known some really good contractors but Fred Dawson with Abbey Construction is the BEST in town. I wouldn’t let anyone else work on my home. Fred listened to my crazy ideas for my basement and did exactly what I wanted. He also came up with a brilliant idea of moving one window, which created an entire new finished space without moving an additional wall – which saved us a bagillion dollars! The work they did on our home includes: opening up a closed wall, refinishing hardwood floors, adding hardwood floors, electrical, completed demo of our existing basement down to the studs, adding a full bath, adding new bedroom, playroom, heavy carpentry work, painting, and a lot more.
