What a great update. **Q: Low cost kitchen spruce up?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Ok, I know I've posted our place before... I'm looking to update it in the simplest way possible. I can live with the floors for a while. Do you think modern pulls, a counter, backsplash and some paint will do the trick? Any ideas for the color of all of these items? I favor grey walls. Willing to stain cabinets. Thanks. A: Rather than stain the cabinets consider painting them white perhaps with even a gray glaze. I would first pick out your counter and backsplash and then coordinate paint to that. Definitely plan on replacing the pulls. A new light fixture can also have a big impact. Happy Decorating! **Q: Did I do it right?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am using cup pulls on my drawers and handles on my cupboards lusually see knobs mixed with cup pulls . Did I mess up? Please give an opinion. The cabinets are dark hardware is satin silver A: I have mixed cup pulls and handles before. Its really what works for the situation, style of your cabinets and the type of hardware you us select. I am sure it looks great! **Q: Shower tiles** *(in Design Dilemma)* Shower tiles We have a open, no door shower 36"w x60". Should I extend the tiles one tile past the door opening or keep flush with threshold. We are using white, horizontal large format tiles. A: Definitely go past the door. **Q: Do you like our new built-in desk?** *(in Before & After)* We needed 2 work stations in this built-in area just off the kitchen. The depth of the niche wasn't deep enough to for a decent desk so we angled out the drawers to give us the depth that we needed. A: Great use of the space in that area! Love it. **Q: Chocolate glazed kitchen cabinets** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am considering using chocolate glazed on cream kitchen cabinets. Is chocolate glazed kitchen cabinets style popular? A: Yes...if it is done correctly. Do not go too heavy on the glaze and if you are buying new, ask for a sample before completing the order. It also depends on the rest of the styling of the house and what is on the floor. Here in Colorado we still love glazing on our cabinets but we also like a lot of wood on the floor.
