Thanks A: The cabinets are from Showplace Wood Products, most of the cabinets are maple and the ones on either side of the wine rack are hickory. All are in the Rockport gray wash. We put in new cabinets, granite, backsplash, appliances. It seems like I am seeing more and more White, Gray, Navy Blue kitchen cabinets taking over. Are my cabinets considered dated? Should I think about having them painted? What color? A: One questions I would ask is do you prefer wood cabinets over painted as you selected the cherry cabinets 4 years ago. Cherry is a beautiful wood and not one you would usually paint, in my showroom I am now starting to see people going back to stained cabinets as much as looking at painted finishes. **Q: Cabinets and Flooring Redesign help** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi, need some help on what would be the best option: Planning to get the cabinets painted white.Dilemma on which would would be a better option for long term: 1\. Replace the carpet to match with existing pre-engineered hardwood ( how would the color of hardwood in the picture look with the white cabinets?) OR 2\. Replace carpet with a darker shade of brown hardwood and restain the whole floor with the same color. ( I know this might look better with white cabinets) Please help with ideas/suggestions A: White cabinets with the current floor would look very nice and matching the new carpet to the current floor will help to unite the two spaces so that they read more as one space. In going to a darker floor be aware that it will take more care, as it will show more dust and wear such as scratches. **Q: outlet box installed too low for quartz backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)* My husband made a judgement error on his measurements for the outlet box and the height of our vanity and countertop. As you see in the picture, the outlets are about 1.25 too long for the backsplash and leaves no room to account for the outlet cover plate. Does anyone have any ideas for how to remedy this? I found shorter outlet plates but they are still too long. Thank you in advance! (PS the company is coming this week to shorten the backsplash since it's hanging over the countertop...)
