I actually laid out the drawing for tile placement for the tile installer on this project. I purchased the tile through Ceramic Tile Design in San Rafael, CA. 415-485-5180. https://ceramictiledesign.com/ The tile was a blend of Unicolor Glass in colors Turquoise, Berry Red, Bright White, Orange, & Lime. A: Hi, Isn’t this a beautiful kitchen, I still love it today as much as I did when I designed it 20 years ago! It is a Siematic kitchen, the wood is quarter-sawn oak. Don’t know the finish. A: I am terribly sorry that I no longer have the information on these lights. **Q: Unable to make an exterior paint color decision** *(in Paint)* Hi, I have been in my home for 10 years and finally am at the point where I can pay a professional to do a much needed paint job. The problem is I am unable to make a decision. This has been so long in the making, and is a large investment for me, and I've become paralyzed with fear over making the wrong decision. I usually know exactly what I want, and have had no problem working on the interior on my own, it's just the investment and the commitment that have gotten to me. I have a one story 50s ranch with textured cedar shingles (I don't particularly love the shingles but I can't do anything about that right now). I am ready to move on from the yellow and have contemplated a light minty blue green, seafoam green, light to medium gray, creamy white, but I just can't commit. I have debated adding shutters, and would love a bright color door. The garage door also will be painted, so I will need to pick a complimentary color for that. I have asked to have beams put across the area where the cedar shingles meet the planks to add a little visual interest. I don't particularly like dark colors like blues, greens, browns, I am really looking to lighten it up. Landscaping will obviously be next on the agenda! Any suggestions? A: I particularly like all white houses. White with the black roof would classic, clean, and bright. Black trim at windows. Benjamin Moore Dove White is a very nice white that I've used again and again, and have always been pleased. I like to use a "low lustre" finish for the body of the house, not flat, and satin for any trim. Instead of painting the garage doors, consider a garage door like above with opaque glass panels! Can't quite tell what your front door style is, but I would paint that a shade of your favorite color. This is about you after all! Please don't use any grays. I believe that gray has been a trend for the last several years, and I for one am tired of it. Gray associates with gloom, and none of us need that in our lives! Add a large black and glass lantern: Whatever you choose, it will be a fresh new start and will feel great. Al the best to you in your decision making. **Q: white paint advice** *(in Paint)* I’m fixing up my attic to make bedrooms and a play area. I’d like to paint the walls white. Can anyone recommend a nice white paint? A: My two "go to" whites are Benjamin Moore's "White Dove " OC-17, it's a very nice white on it's own and can be used alone or as a trim for any other color. My second standard white is Kelly Moore's "Swiss Coffee". The good thing about Swiss Coffee is a lot of painters use it as their standard white, and some cabinet companies use it as their white. You can color match either color in your favorite brand of paint. I have recently started using the Sherwin Williams brand, and although the paint doesn't seem at thick as Benjamin Moore's, when you use their higher grade "Super Paint", I was able to have a dark gray cover in one coat of a light tan. Best of luck to you and your painting adventure! **Q: What kind of chairs for this dining table?** *(in Furniture)* I purchased this dining table (in the finish shown on the second pic) and I’m just not sure what kind of chairs would look best with it. The house is Mediterranean style, we’re trying to keep some of that global flavor without being overdone or stuffy. Would chairs with turned legs look best, or would they be competing with the table legs? The floors are a similar dark brown wood - should I try to match the finish? Thank you! A: Love the table and hope you enjoy many beautiful meals at it! Let the legs of the table be the design focus. Since the table and floor are both dark wood, I think you should use a simple light upholstered chair. The legs can be simple, straight and in a lighter wood finish.
