Here is my situation: 1\) furniture is what it is. I don't love the looks of the big poofy chair, but it is so amazingly comfortable for those long nights. While I won't change the furniture, I'm open to moving it around. The only caveat is that I need a small end table near the poofy chair. 2\) paint color stays as is. It's a soft yellow. Here are main questions I have: 1: I don't know what to do with the empty 12 ft wall across from the crib. I sit and rock my baby there everyday and looking at that blank wall is torture when I know there is something cute to put there. I just don't know what! I already have her baby pictures on a wall, I already have the name decal over the crib. I've attached a 4ft flower mirror that I have in storage. I'm not sure the colors go 100%, but I am throwing it out there to get thoughts. 2\. With the Lydia decal and the flowing flowers, I feel like the room is a bit off balance. Do I need something over the chair? Like maybe those orbs or large paper balls that hang from the ceiling? Then I worry that there is just too much happening on that side of the room, so close to the ruffle curtains which are a dominant item. 3\) furniture placement: should I move the chair/end table to the side with the dresser? I feel like that will create another hold next to the crib. Do I need something else furniture wise to fill a hole? Lost! Please help! A: My advice would be that everything in there seems a little bulky as is, put all storage furniture and shelving together on one wall and add some shelving above it would a couple pictures, a mirror. I would definitely add some lighting light a hanging lamp or tall floor lamps over by where the chair is. Possibly switch out the chair for something a little less bulky but still just as comfortable and add a pop of color to the decor! If you search for nurseries on here they have made ideas and pictures as well. **Q: Looking to update and improve curb appeal, 60s colonial** *(in Design Dilemma)* The previous owner did not maintain the siding well and the cost to repair rotting boards/sand/change paint color etc is closing in on the price of new Hardiplank siding and gutters making that decision pretty easy. I am looking for some color combo suggestions that would complement the brick to freshen up the look. I also had considered a straight-edged shingled look above the dentil molding for the upper triangle of siding but no other home in the area has that look so we would probably stand out and look too trendy with that. Should the post/columns be updated in some way or is that character that should stay? A: I would add planters, paint your door a new color other then white, update your landscaping with more flowers .... just a few ideas! **Q: What color should I paint this bench?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am trying to do a "pick me up" in our mud room area. I painted the walls, bought new carpets and we will be redoing the tile soon. My question is... what color do I paint the bench? Should I stain it the wood color or paint it a black or some other color. My husband thinks I should paint it a "brighter color" but I want to keep it classic looking, thoughts? Thanks for your time.
