Unlike many architects who have a specific style they are best at, Wayne is excellent at all styles. His commitment to excellence and perfection allows him to never miss the small details and he researches everything completely. Both of our homes were complete renovations and one was a historic project requiring tremendous amounts of submissions and permitting. He was always prepared with outstanding drawings and presentation materials and brought a sense of professionalism and charm to every hearing. Ultimately, both of our projects have been published in several leading magazines and Wayne and his team are even better than his name of Good Architecture implies. We selected Wayne for his incredibly breadth of design talents, ranging from very large, high end homes to distinct, cottage-scale projects such as ours. Wayne was able to produce a design for our renovation that was dramatic and appealing to the eye, and very much updating the old home but at the same time preserving the cottage feel of the original house and many of its older, distinct and even funky attributes that really gave it its character. Additionally, we were able to work with Wayne and his team to do a fully Green home, including geothermal heating/cooling, super-insulated and sealed walls, floors and roof, energy efficient windows and doors, and many recycled materials re-used in construction. He/she is your advocate; the buildier constructs the architect's plan, which if he has done his work correctly is your dream home. Initially, Wayne solicits a tremendous amount of information about life style, what gives you peace and pleasure, do you prefer simple or fancy architecture, how important is your natural surrounding and do you want outside space incorporated into the home. And he listens. Then designs several options (usually) letting the client see all architectureal possibilities. Our small lot restricted Wayne to only one option, the perfect one. He worked with the builder seamlessly (they had worked together before) and the home is absolutely exactly what was envisioned. > > A piece of advice: let the architect do the job you are paying him to do. Don't fiddle with his details. He sees in his head the entire plan and moving a closet, window or door can change the entire flow of the home.
