A big yuck! It's now a pleasure to use the restroom :) - my husband and I do all of our own renovation work - If you have never tried it, TRY IT! The cost savings of doing it yourself versus hiring a contractor is not the only reward. It's the pride in saying "I did this"! A: Beautiful! Love the change **Q: To Paint or Not to Paint my fireplace** *(in Design Dilemma)* This is my fireplace. I hate it and I have always hated it. I don't want to do a full reno, but I would like to paint it. My choice is Benjamin Moore's Mascarpone AF-20. I might leave the hearth natural grey marble (for the wear factor and because it is ok). The fireplace material is circa 1970 marble. OR should I leave it alone.... Your help PLEASE!!! A: Interesting fireplace I think, I would hate to see any one paint marble. What about an oversized funky painting above on the mantel to draw your eye upward, or just play the mantel up in general with interesting pieces. Or you may be able to blend it into the rest of the room with your décor. think plant to one side, throw pillows that have a touch of earthy coral, something along that line.
