What type of marble is this? A: Yes it was marble but I was not involved in the selection. We composed a Moroccan tadelakt plaster to work with the stone and the teak. **Q: paint colors used** *(in Photo Questions)* I would also appreciate knowing the colors used on walls and trim. Thank you A: The walls and the trim are lime plaster and paint hand-tinted to a slightly warm white. **Q: Beautiful work!** *(in Photo Questions)* Can you please tell me what the wall color is? A: The walls are untinted Spirito Libero plaster from Giorgio Graesan. **Q: Stain or Paint New Poplar Railing?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hello all, I just got a brand new interior railing installed in my house. the railing is all poplar and I am torn between painting or staining it. The color of the railing will be ebony. Are there any pros and cons to either? My preference is stain but not sure if the poplar would look good stained as it doesn't have the most flattering grain unlike my red oak floors. Still in the middle of renovations so the risers will be painted white along with the bottom runner. I think a black runner would be too much especially since my interior doors will be black once installed. A: If it's going to be ebony you can probably stain it. It will probably take at least two or three coats to get the deep coloration. First coat will likely be blotchy as mentioned. you might even use some color in the clear topcoat, but in the end it will look deeper and richer than solid paint. Stain and Seal Ebony by Faux Effects is a great solution over any wood, kind of a combo between stain and topcoat, lots of body. **Q: What is the countertop? Also the cabinet color? Love it!** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Sorry, I do not know either. **Q: Carved table base** *(in Photo Questions)* What is the base of the table made from?
