The finished product was better than I expected given that part of the lamp is composed of some kind of Japanese paper. They are beautiful and used practically daily. A: Yes, but like it mixed with organic pieces and art to warm it up, hence eclectic . **Q: What should I do with these two lines?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I wanted to expose this whole brick wall but the contractor hacked some parts to put in electrical pipes so now I'm left with two cement lines on the wall. I was thinking of plastering the spaces between the two lines so that it looks like a column but I don't think the outcome will be good. A: they could be faux painted out or the whole wall could be painted **Q: Privacy solution between bedroom and bath** *(in Design Dilemma)* Husband and I are on different schedules and need some sort of divider between the bedroom and bath which has no door. I've been using a panel curtain which matches pinch pleat curtains on the other side of the bedroom. However, the backside is ugly on the bath side. Is there any better possibility? It must be magnetic **Q: TV placement in living room** *(in Design Dilemma)* Why do so many rooms show a tv placed where the furniture is obviously not positioned comfortably to actually watch it? A: Various reasons: the viewing angle is too high to watch comfortably for long periods. The light and movement from a fire competes with the tv and acts as a distraction (different lumen output and flicker rates - its no wonder people describe feeling stressed after watching excessively at that angle). The smoke and heat can affect the tv adversely if not vented properly, just as you wouldn't want to be smoking around sensitive electronic gear of any sort. The wall behind the tv has to be drilled out for mounting and cable which isn't to everyones liking, especially when they finally decide to tv isn't placed right after all. Not everyone agrees with all this but Why even put a tv on the same wall as a fireplace? (each has its own purpose why compete?) Unless you think you have to. I'd rather use a tv to temporarily cover a fireplace when not used if possible. Or hide the tv in a media wall.
