He spent the next fifteen minutes on speaker phone - as he was driving to a job site - giving me names of people to call and coaching me on how to structure my project for the best results and cost management. The dude could have totally ended the phone call in the first few minutes, because I was of no benefit to him, but he truly wanted to help and proceeded to provide honest information and names of companies for me to call. When I first contacted Andy, he came out to give me a bid right away. Then, my insurance claim got delayed, and Andy was very accommodating. They put my job on hold, and did not start until my insurance finally paid out. This was a kind act. > Then I got paid, put up my deposit and reconstruction began. The first day Andy, Matt, and Mike came out to take cabinet measurements, and check that all was ready. > The next day Gabriel and Jose came to do the drywall and texture. They completed in one day and it looked great. > Mike had built me some beautiful cabinets off site, so he came the next day to install them. They fit like a glove and were built with expert craftsmanship. > The next day the flooring demo happened. They ripped it up and hauled it off! > So now flooring day is here! Axiom did flooring throughout my entire condo. I was nervous and excited. They did a great job and I was over the moon! This took two days, as it was labor intensive. The flooring came out beautifully. > Then Gabriel and David came in to install upgraded baseboards, seal around the baseboards, and do some painting! > Gabriel and David worked hard on the baseboards, painting, and then generally making sure the job was wrapped up and cleaned up! > During my 8 day reconstruction period, either Andy or his partner Matt would stop by to check on the job and the progress of my job. This felt really good to me, and I felt taken care of during the reconstruction. These men are hands on. My kitchen was left incomplete and in a huge mess after a previous company had torn down the cabinets, countertop, and the drywall due to water damage. This so called reputable company failed to show up on several occassions after that. In addition, they never fixed the plumbing and had every excuse under the sun as why they continued to be no-shows for committed appointments!! My kitchen was demolished for over 2 months at this point! I called a few water damage companies and both directed me to Axiom. I emailed Axiom in desperation and I received a call from Andy just minutes later. He took the time to listen, explain the process to me, and get me scheduled immediately. After an extremely stressful and negative experience with a different local company, it was a breath of fresh air to have the restoration completed by Axiom. They are prompt and timely with their service, their employees are so polite and respectful, they are honest, fair, and trustworthy. As far as workmanship? I feel like I have a brand new kitchen! Stripped my bathroom to the studs, then rebuilt the plumbing, duct work, and a lot of electrical to accommodate an infrared sauna and luxury steam shower/tub unit - which Axiom installed as well! Amazing work! My wife and I were extremely pleased with final results. > The crew is friendly and very professional. I was comfortable with Axiom having a key to come and go as they need. Whenever a big shipment was arriving, Axiom was there to receive and install. We had helpful discounts for some items through Axiom connections with design, fixtures, cabinetry, plumbing, etc. > During the renovation, unsurprisingly, some SIGNIFICANT hidden problems surfaced, including a major underground leak in the pipes supplying the pool! Axiom had everything fixed and taken care ASAP! Yes, a very big expense for everything for me. Axiom certainly are not bargain contractors, however, your value per dollar is WAY more than worth it! These guys will be my first and only choice for whenever I am ready for another project! On a more personal level, Andy and Matt were very professional from the start. We allocated $36,000 for the entire project. We are pleased with our choices and the quality of work performed by the trades with two exceptions: my jetted tub was never hooked up and now the plumbers and GC don't know what to do AND the doorway between the dining room and the kitchen was widened and the flooring people don't know how to complete the threshold because it invokes 44 year old tile and hard wood flooring. We are approaching week TWELVE of this Reno which is stalled. Does anyone have any suggestions? A: I don't know the history, but it happens often. If the model is not clearly shown in the plan or contract, the contractor is likely to choose the lower tier/cheaper version, sometimes it's just bad luck also. If the power is there and the pump in is installed, you should have an access door - if not, the tile is new if the wall/surround is tiled or if it's just finished drywall even better. Open it up, fix it and repair the wall after installing an access door. There's likely a hallway or closet on the other side of the tub - go through there. If they demo'd it an built it once, they can do it again. While it's open, make sure that the tub was properly set in a nice big grout bed; otherwise the tub will pop/shift when it fills. Good Luck. Oh - the threshold, cut the tile out and go with a wood threshold all the way across. You can usually find "Gipetto" in town somewhere that can stain match to the surrounding finishes. **Q: Apartment** *(in Photo Questions)* Kitchen cost? A: How did your Ikea materials work out?
