Harting & Hunemuller Contractors was established to act as your General Contractor specializing in all your residential and light commercial needs from building new custom homes, offices and condominiums, to additions, commercial remodels, whole house remodels, Kitchen remodels, Bathroom remodels and Window replacements. 

We primarily serve the Cedar Falls - Waterloo metropolitan area. Our reach includes surrounding towns such as Hudson, Reinbeck, Dike, New Hartford, Waverly, Janesville, Evansdale, Parkersburg, Denver, and Shell Rock.

Our business was established in 1989 by Don Harting and Reed Hunemuller. Don started in construction while still in High School in the early 70's and now has over 40 years experience in building new homes, remodeling and light commercial construction. Reed attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1979 with a degree in Industrial Technology with and emphasis in Construction.

After more than 25 years our simple philosophy of "Build it right, Build it to last and Keep the customer happy" still holds true today.

> Our entire experience with Harting and Hunemuller was excellent. We hired them to build an extension of our existing deck out and around a newly installed swimming pool.  They listened to our ideas, made suggestions, and even returned several times to recheck our plans as the pool was being installed. When it came time to build the deck, the crew doing the work was excellent as well. They arrived early, were friendly, respectful, clean, and literally got to work as soon as the sun was up. They worked straight through until the project was done.  The finished deck exceeded our expectations, not only meeting our design expectations but with finishing touches that made it look finished and professional. This company clearly values quality work and customer service and we would highly recommend them to anyone who wants high quality work done on their home.  They are definitely the ones WE will call for future work on our home!

> When we set out to do a whole home remodel to finally make our dream home we knew the task was going to be tough.  Our vision included lots of custom renovation that had to be built upon the current foundation.  We even had reservations ourselves if our grand vision was even achievable. As we met with numerous contractors in the Cedar Valley many scoffed at our ideas and offered little help with our vision. We selected Harting and Hunemuller because they immediately listened to our desires.  Rather then telling us that its not possible right away they offered practical ways in which solutions could be reached.  They listened to every single concern we had and offered insights into how our dream home can be made possible.  Likewise Harting and Hunemuller gave us a detailed plan of how the entire home remodel would be achieved.  It was an easy selection once we saw how open and prepared they were. > Harting and Hunemuller has been our contractor for several home renovation projects over many years.  They have supervised the refinishing of our basement into a laundry room and playroom for the grandchildren, remodeled one of our bathrooms, built a four-season room extension to the rear of our home and a backyard deck, put cement siding on the house as well as decorative brickwork, redone our chimney, given us a new roof, and more.  They are very pleasant to work with, answer all questions thoroughly, and stand by their work.  I can recommend them without reservation.
