My company has done hundreds of bathroom remodels. This has been my Bestbath experience. > I completed a bathroom remodel for a severely handicapped, one-bath household and installed a Bestbath pan. > The shower pan developed two sizeable holes after a number of uses. The failure was the result of a defective manufactured process from Bestbath. Bestbath acknowledged that their product had failed and reimbursed the cost of the shower pan. > I did work with Bestbath's warranty department to be reimbursed for the labor to remove and replace their defective product, which was a complete waste of time. Overall, my Best bath experience was a nightmare. I wanted a low threshold for handicap access just in case! There was the beautiful, but exorbitantly priced stone variations. I just didn't feel like paying $3000 for a shower pan (could be less if you want plain white or beige). From my research I decided that fiberglass was going to be our best option. I would have gone for Swanstone if I didn't mind a higher edge. The shortest edge they make is 3" high. Flexstone had decent colors, but felt too 'plasticky'. I also didn't want to deal with grout on the floor. > > We ended up choosing BestBath's which has a newish "molten stone" color line. It's really quite attractive and has the built in texture in the middle to reduce slippage, which is smooth, so perfectly comfortable to stand on. They were actually the ONLY company I could find that made a low threshold fiberglass product to custom size. They were easy to work with and good customer service. They did make a mistake with our pan and had to rebuild it and send us a new one; but the customer service lady I worked with was extremely helpful. The turnaround time was about two weeks. > > And by the way, I now have an extra 60" X 36" shower pan sitting in my downstairs that I'd love to resell to someone at a discount. It has a left hand drain (we needed a right-hand drain) and a 1" threshold with beveled edge.
