They said it was very durable, did very well on the etch test and wouldn't be prone to staining. So I bought it. I don't mind sealing it annually or bi-annually, but now I'm researching and getting worried that I've been terribly lied to about how it will hold up. I've read some posts saying it's actually marble, which would be a nightmare. Anyone have experience with this? Advice?? A: I would strongly suggest avoiding a product that requires taking down the factory finish on stones like this, by way of sanding. If you ever decide to remove a chemically bonded coating, you won’t achieve the stones original polish. They’ll instead beat around the bush and convince you to leave it honed, as an even factory polish won’t be possible **Q: Has anyone used Stoneguard to protect their marble or quartzite?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am renovating my kitchen and having a hard time deciding on counters. I love the natural stones but do not want to maintence. A: StoneGuard is phenomenal **Q: MORE - Anti Etch** *(in Kitchens)* I am getting marble in my kitchen. I don't like granite or quartz, and I'm not fond of quartzite either. I'm looking at Danby marble and will get it if I find a couple of slabs I like. However, if there is something that will help with etching then I'd like to know. Clearstone appears like a plastic cover to me. Does anyone have experience with More Anti Etch, or something else that doesn't look like plastic or change the depth or feel of the marble? Let me know your experience. TIA A: Was that an actual honest assessment on the product or did you get compensated for a paid/sponsored video? I would play it out for 3-4 years down the road, weigh the initial costs, performance and the ability to remedy/handle issues effectively, efficiently and in an affordable fashion. I think you could find quite a different opinion and truth. Tuffskin is good, StoneGuard IMO is a bit better and has the best warranty. MORE claimed 10 years warranty day 1 if their product launch…. Physical liquid chemical coatings have an interesting history. They tend to be the worst option long term. I’d take any film all day over the chemical. The application also literally ruins the factory finish in order to be applied. The film can be applied and removed if needed, no harm done. Also, contrary to your statement… The film doesn’t just lift and peel by the way. It’s extremely rare, happens once per 1000 pieces laid down, if that. When it does, it’s triggered by an impact or something. A film adhered to a surface won’t just magically lift on its own. Films in general have an incredible amount of applications. They work **Q: Danby marble (w/ Stoneguard Satin) vs White quartzite Kitchen Counters** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi all - we are building a new home with a large island (10' x 6'), which will be the heart of the home. Like many others I have long had the dilemma looking for the perfect white-gray natural stone that is durable. Unrealistic expectations, I know. In our last home we settled for a black, white, gray granite that was meh, and Silestone Lyra in the bathroom that always looked like plastic to me and started to yellow after about 2 years. Fast forward to this house. We have kids, love to cook. I know this can be a difficult search so want to start right away. Anyone have input on pros/cons of these two options - particularly interested in those that have experience with Stoneguard now that it's been out for a couple years). I don't need the counters to be perfect forever but want to make wisest decision. Planning white shaker style cabinets, black hardware, white oak natural flooring - so the counters & TBD backsplash will be the star of the show. Thank you! They also have a MORE Anti-Etch Application which is new and requires a technition to apply. Anyone heard of this? Amazing if it works! Nano particles regenerate instantaneously **Q: More AntiEtch Sealer for marble countertops** *(in Design Dilemma)* Has anyone used More AntiEtch sealer for marble kitchen countertops? I have endlessly debated about whether to install marble but I love it and think I will go for it. The stone supplier today mentioned a new product called "More AntiEtch" which is guaranteed for 10 years. They said they have tried to stain their samples with ketchup etc and even poured battery acid on them and the sealer held. Apparently it is quite expensive as they have to sand the counters down before applying and then rehone or polish the counters but if it lasts 10 years....!
