My background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and jobs in Film, TV, and Theater. I began to design kitchens and bathrooms for friends and family in 1987 and went onto the NKBA training program in 1995. My training and experience encompass many disciplines, including color theory, space planning, lighting design, and ergonomics. A: These are 36” drawers. 48” drawers will fail unless the drawer bottom is thick and the application is light use. **Q: countertop material** *(in Photo Questions)* What are the perimeter countertops? Thanks! A: Hi There, I believe they are Honed Carrera with a predominantly white field. **Q: Self cleaning** *(in Product Questions)* Do any of the 36" ranges have self cleaning oven option. Seems none that I have found do, but the same co (no matter the brand) in a 30" will have self cleaning. A: Dual-fuel ranges will sometimes have a self-cleaning feature. It puts a lot of wear and tear on the range so you will have fewer issues if you don't run the self-cleaning cycle. **Q: Not sure what to do with this wall.** *(in Design Dilemma)* Everyday I look at this wall and wonder if I should add something above or on the side of the TV. I have put a metal design wall art and it looked out of place. Then I tried decals, (yes decals) and that looked simply horrific. Help? Do I leave it as is or any suggestions? I think that whole area of wall and decor help. Thank You A: I would mount the TV to the wall and declutter for a cleaner look. Then add a nice wide console table with statues/candlesticks/lanterns underneath to ground the TV visually. Put two ottomans under the console table for extra seating/footrests. After falling in love with this slab and now seeing such a glaring disconnect I would love opinions on whether this is as bad as I think it is, or any advice on what can be done to improve this misalignment at this stage. Thanks in advance! A: This is a rough situation. Did you (or the responsible party) go to stone yard and layout where template goes on the stone? Unless you bought the stone through the designer, it is not their responsibility. Many professionals in this industry have zero aesthetic sense. That certainly seems to be the case here. I would never recommend a line-y stone like that for a perpendicular installation. So sorry that you have come up against this. Best of Luck to you! PS: why does your backsplash have a strip of wood at the end of it? It should be a glass bullnose. I would have them change that ASAP. **Q: Cabinet Hardware?** *(in Photo Questions)* Hello-- Lovely kitchen. Do you recall specs for the cabinet hardware? thanks A: Hi There, my client bought this hardware herself. They are square-footed pulls in polished nickel.
