We liked the layout of the house and wanted to maintain as many original details as possible, such as ceiling medallions, dark stained baseboards, and light fixtures. Because we have a significant collection of antiques, including gramophones, radios and clocks, we envisioned a décor inspired by the 1920s and 1930s for the living and dining rooms. The kitchen needed a complete remodel. We wanted a fun space with lots of colours, textures and patterns that maximizes prep and storage space and is easy to keep clean. > During the planning process it became clear that we would need to move out of the house, and we didn’t like the prospect of doing it again in the next few years to address issues on the other floors, like removing knobs and tubes, replacing old plaster and windows, and adding a second bathroom in the basement. Suddenly, the scope of the project pretty much doubled. > Working with Yanic and Jaclyn was a blast. They have impeccable taste, pay attention to every detail and are excellent project managers. They also kept a close eye on the schedule, and managed to limit delays related to late adds-on to the project.
