### Reviews

**★★★★★ — RAD Designs (Robert Adam Dorn), Dec. 2018**

> I worked with Mega Builders to design a whole house remodel and had a truly great experience. Alon, the owner of Mega Builders communicated very well the desires of the client, the budget and made my design process go very smoothly. Mega Builders is a quality builder. Honest, reliable and an excellent eye for detail. I look forward to working with them on projects in the future.

**★★★★★ — Almos Taggar, Dec. 2018**

> We have done a whole house remodel, more or less. Mega Builders not only provided us with a detailed description of the work and with detailed pricing, they also provided us with a detailed schedule from the get go. No other contractor provided us that. Our architect was very pleased with the work and Alon and he worked well together. We were pleased that the work progressed as promised and that they cleaned at the end of each day. The house is great and we are very happy.

**★★★★★ — Jun Yi, Dec. 2018**

> We worked closely with Alon from start to finish, we had weekly meetings and in between we could follow the schedule and progress online. We are very happy with the result. The work is well done and looks great. Whenever an issue came up it was addressed and resolved. This project was a collaborative effort that we enjoyed.

**★★★★★ — Shannon Sal, Dec. 2018**

> Our project was completed on time and our budget was met. The process was well managed and seemed painless. We now enjoy a better home and our only regret is not doing the work sooner. They always communicated well and were on top of the schedule. And we were always made to feel that our opinions and concerns are top priority. Highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Nikki Ren, Dec. 2018**

> Mega’s team is client-focused and professional. Alon was always there to help us work within our budget, yet the quality and functionality were never compromised. They worked with the HOA and the city to secure permits and clear any issues in what seemed like record time and had no problems with the ongoing city inspections. We are very happy.

**★★★★★ — Jeffery Weiss, Dec. 2018**

> Mega Builders remodeled our home. The crews always showed up on time and project-status updates were comminucated regularly. The work was finished on time and was beautifully done. After the work was done we had no difficulty getting service work when requested. Our home looks great and is functioning so much better for us. We are indeed happy with results.

**★★★★★ — Jack, Dec. 2018**

> Dare I say it... I actually LIKE my contractor! Well, really, I loved these guys, and not only bc Alon and I have similar humor - they were ON it. In all seriousness Mega Builders did a fantastic job. It was a tough 5k+ sqft remodel in an area with an uptight HOA with oversight and regulations to drive anyone nuts, and the Mega guys helped us tremendously throughout. I cannot over state how important a knowledgeable builder is when it comes to these sorts of things. California is bad enough in terms regulation, taxation, etc. and having someone like Alon to help us through approval for our build was priceless. The commiserating helped too ;). In short, these guys were great and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

**★★★★★ — HU-851882313, Dec. 2018**

> Alon, we want to thank you and your team for a job well done. We have settled in and we love our home.
> Working with you and the guys was a pleasure and we are happy to have found you.

**★★★★★ — Marry, Dec. 2018**

> Delightful time working with Alon and his crew. Could not recommend them more. They helped take the pain out of the process - they were professional, and highly knowledgeable. Our home is nearly done, and so far it looks spectacular!

**★★★★★ — Jenean Golen, Dec. 2018**

> Mega Builders did a great job completing a two-floor remodel of our home. Everyone we encountered was nice and a pleasure to work with. Alon remained closely involved until everything was a wrap and the project was well managed. The result exceed our expectations. Great job Mega Builders!

**★★★★★ — Kristen Reiter, Dec. 2018**

> Our project’s journey with Mega Builders was a great experience. Alon and his team were always available and we had weekly meetings with Alon from start to finish. The work was supervised daily and managed competently and the work is beautiful. So many others tell of budget overruns and missed deadlines that we feel lucky and blessed to have had none of that. We recommend Alon and Mega without reservation.

**★★★★★ — Suzette Christenberry, Dec. 2018**

> My wife and I have recently completed a major remodeling project with Mega Builders. We have remodeled homes in the past and this project was the largest and most involved. It also was also the most rewarding and the least stressful. This was thanks to Alon and his team who were always courteous, professional and responsive. Mega’s pricing was fair and competitive, the crew and subs knew what they were about and the work was done timely. Highly recommended.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Love the desks and cabinets, where did you get them?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the look of this room. We are building an office in our house and would like to try and recreate a similar look. I can find desks that are close to this, but I can't find cabinetry that is similar. If you know where you got both that would be great, but I'm really hoping to get more info on the storage you used.

A: Thank you for your question. These items were procured by the clients and so we do not have this information.

**Q: Complete Master Bath Remodel** *(in Before & After)*

Faucets: Axor Massaud (Lee Supply Corp in Carmel, IN)
Tub: Tiffany 59" Freestanding White Bathtub purchased from Houzz
Cabinets: Dutch Made Inc. Custom Cabinetry (The KitchenWright in Carmel, IN)
Cabinet Pulls: Vauxhall pulls in polished chrome (Restoration Hardware)
In-Drawer Electrical Outlet: Kohler K-999566-CA3 In-Drawer Electrical Outlet for Tailored Vanities (Amazon)
Lights: Maxim Director LED Bath Vanity (Lee Supply Corp)
\*We installed WAY too many of these...one over each vanity would have been plenty as they are VERY bright. We have tried 4 different dimmers but they all make a buzzing sound. They are neccessary though as you cannot have all 6 on at once at full brightness without getting a suntan :)
Countertops: Ceasarstone Rugged Concrete (The KitchenWright in Carmel, IN)
Sinks: Kohler Ladena Undermount 23-1/4"
Shower walls: Emser 18x18 polished marble in Winter Frost (Jack Laurie Home Floor Designs in Carmel, IN)
Bathroom floor: Neostile 6x24 plank tile in Silver (Jack Laurie Home Floor Designs in Carmel, IN)
\*Floor is heated which makes all the difference in the world during Indiana winters :)
Shower system: Axor Hansgrohe from (Lee Supply Corp in Carmel, IN)
Overhead Rainshower: Kohler WaterTile Rainshower (Lee Supply Corp in Carmel, IN)
Shower glass: Carmel Glass and Mirror in Carmel, IN

A: Fantastic job!

**Q: Ikea / Semihandmade kitchen reveal** *(in Before & After)*

Hi! Thanks for all the help and inspiration this past summer while I was desperately trying to learn how to remodel our kitchen. We’ve been living in the new kitchen for 4 or 5 months now and are thrilled with the result!

It’s been a while, but I’ve been meaning to share this - both because I’m proud of myself and want to show it off but also because there aren’t that many kitchen remodels on here that are in our price range and I wanted to show an example for others in a similar bracket.

We bought the house 2 years ago, and it's a cool funky 120-year-old home that's had layers of remodels over the years. It's been well taken care of, but the kitchen wasn't meeting our needs in terms of workspace and storage. We didn't have much to put into a remodel, but felt it was worth seeing what we could do within our budget. I did a lot of internet research, crossed my fingers, and jumped in. I didn't work with a kitchen designer or any other kitchen pro, so it was a huge relief when it all came together.

The whole project came in around $18,500:
• Materials ~10k (Semihandmade fronts/panels the biggest expense)
• Labor ~$7k
• Appliances (fridge + microwave) ~$1500.
The project took about a month from demo through completion (minus a few odds and ends).
Details:
Cabinets/Drawers – Ikea Sektion with Semihandmade fronts and panels (Clay color)
Sink – Ikea Havsen
Counters and shelving – John Boos Maple Butcherblock
Tile – Fireclay Tile, Slate Blue
Pendants and wall light – Rejuvenation Hardware
Wall paint – BM White Cloud
Island paint (and nearby accent wall in living area, not shown) – BM Kensington Blue
\*The only thing left to do is counter stools for the island – so if you have suggestions let me know!

Thanks!

Before (messy and full of toddler):

After (from roughly the same 3 vantage points):

A: Looks great!

**Q: Completed our Abby kitchen!** *(in Before & After)*

Great new kitchen in one of our custom builds from a tear down. Some great lighting, cabinet and island choices! Excited to share with the houzz community!

A: Gorgeous work!

**Q: Uncle Julio's Restaurant gets new shades!** *(in Before & After)*

Installed shades in Uncle Julio's in VA - Solar Shades are a great fit for commercial and residential to soften the heat and glare and provide a view through!

A: Looks great!

**Q: Custom kitchen** *(in Before & After)*

Newly built kitchen cabinets

A: Nicely done!
