We could not be more pleased with the outcome. Derek is meticulous in everything he does. That alone would be enough to get him 5 stars. However, in our case, we also needed someone to guide us through the entire design process and Derek did a fantastic job of doing just that. We started with very few specifics for what we wanted and Derek took it from there, coming up with layout, colors, materials, patterns, lights, etc. And he was also very respectful when we would say that we didn't like some aspect of his suggestions. He would just come up with other alternatives. I believe that he spent as many hours thinking about our project when he was away from our house as he did actually working in the house. It's a year later now, and we remain highly impressed with the job. Derek (the owner) has a \*HIGH\* attention to detail, and made sure the job was done right the first time. Unlike many home improvement operations, Derek performs most of the work himself. He doesn't hire a huge team that can't understand or speak to you, and in fact I think he only hired 1-2 other guys to help with some of the big things like installing the sheathing. This fosters great communication, as he gives you regular status updates on his progress or any problems he's running into (rot around windows, non-plumb walls, etc). He's always available to answer questions, and is very knowledgeable about his line of work. I have nothing but high marks for Derek. The waiting list may be long, but you'll be glad you waited. And in fact, I'd rather hire someone with a long waiting list...that means he's in high demand. I asked for some references before we hired him, and those references had nothing but the highest praise for Derek. One more thing...with these high marks you'd think Landmark has exorbitant prices...not so.
