> I've always been a little suspicious of working with an architect.  I expected grandiose, impractical plans that maxed out my budget.  Working with Philip was the direct opposite of my expectations.  He took my eyesore of a 50's bungalow and turned it into the house in the neighborhood that people slow down to look at as they drive by.  He offered practical solutions, made cost-effective choices, and added thoughtful design elements that were perfectly in keeping with my own personal style, the character of my home,  and the neighborhood as a whole.  In the initial planning stages he quickly grasped what my needs were - an indication that his listening and comprehension skills are above par - and delivered a plan that addressed all of those needs.  Throughout construction he was available to answer questions and consult on design dilemmas.  In fact, I wish I had requested his advice more often.  It's too bad that I have banned myself from any more renovation projects, because I'd love to work with him again.  (I'll consult on yours if you want me to!)
