### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Ron StJean, Sept. 2023**

> Kris designed and installed our kitchen in Boothbay, Maine. I have built two houses and remodeled five more. I have worked with many subcontractors and Kris is without a doubt the best I have ever worked with. I am in my mid seventies and have been around for awhile so that is saying a lot. What we all want from a contractor is one who is competent, responsible, communicative and does great work. Kris and his crew excelled at all of these aspects. My wife and I visited his shop and was extremely impressed with the production process and exquisite quality of the cabinets. I suggest you look at other products and then look at Kris’s products. The quality is unmatched and you will see it immediately and it is made right here in the state of Maine!

> Kris Reynold designed and installed a new kitchen. He was creative and made what we really want happen. We had been told by a previous designer that what we wanted couldn't be done but Kris did it. His approach was direct and straightforward and offered excellent suggestions. We love the work and detail. The materials and workmanship are superb. Highly recommend!

> I have an antique (circa 1750) Colonial that needed a total kitchen refresh, but we were concerned with insuring anything we did would improve the kitchen without ruining it's old world charm. Not only did all the Reynolds work meet that criteria, it looks absolutely stunning, while still maintaining the budget we needed to adhere to!
> I was so impressed with their work, we ended up also having them make a matching vanity for the bathroom near the kitchen. I can't recommend Reynolds Custom Woodwork's enough!

**★★★★★ — User, Aug. 2017**

> Outstanding product and professional advice. Great folks to work with and quality workmanship all the way. Beautiful kitchen, then, now and for the future.

**★★★★★ — Rhonda Millett, Aug. 2017**

> I love my kitchen! Reynolds Custom Woodworks did a great job. They are prompt in response and worked with me on any problems/questions that I had during the design process. Kris knows his product and makes good recommendations. My kitchen went in smoothly and on time when I was ready for it. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Kris for another job!

**★★★★★ — Diane Wheeler, Aug. 2017**

> Absolutely beautiful cabinets and Kris was wonderful to work with. On time and on budget. Cannot recommend Reynolds Custom Cabinets highly enough!

**★★★★★ — Sue and Michael, Feb. 2017**

> We LOVE our new kitchen! Kris came over and spent time listening to us, looking at our present space and then designed a kitchen that reflected our needs, lifestyle and likes. The quality of his workmanship is superb. What I found a year later is that he stood by his work by coming over again to check things out and this was complimentary! I would recommend Kris again and again. He does what he says he would do with cheerful and professional attitude.

> The past summer I purchased a beautiful 100-year-old home with one major issue: The kitchen had last been updated in 1950. It was my first major renovation experience, and I began researching kitchen cabinet fabricators. Kris Reynolds’ website looked gorgeous, plus the reviews from happy customers were inviting. When I contacted Kris he seemed pleasant enough, his prices seemed fair, and we agreed on a plan -- the old kitchen would be demo’d and new cabinets installed. Kris calculated that all would be completed in a month, two months at the most.
> Our problems began when the remodeling people that Kris recommended all turned out to be unavailable. As the kitchen was gutted, we ended up spending months without a kitchen in our house.
> Then the budget went way over initial calculations. I offered to pay in installments over the next three months. “We’re putting in the cabinets now,” Kris insisted. “This project’s been taking up needed space in my shop, and I want it out of here.”
> I took out a loan to cover the added project costs. The day he arrived with the cabinets, I went to the bank to get the loan. Upon arrival, however, the bank informed me the loan had been delayed. I went back to the house and told Kris. He got angry and told me, “You better have that money today by the time I finish installing the cabinets, or we’re going to have a big problem.”
> I offered to pay him 1/3 of what I owed him, right then, out of my checking account. He started mimicking me, accusing me of “taking money from my kids’ mouths,” and robbing him—all in front of his assistant! He asked me the name of the bank, and I told him. He went back into the kitchen but I could still hear him mimicking me to his assistant.
> After a few hours, Kris said he was finished and demanded the remainder of the payment. I gave him a personal check with 1/3 the remaining amount. He looked at me and said, “Okay, I’m taking all of the drawers and doors back as collateral until you finish paying me.”
> I reminded him that installing the cabinets on that day had been at his insistence. Nevertheless, he took the cabinet drawers and doors and left, with his assistant apologetically saying that he was sure this would all be worked out soon.
> Soon I got a call from my banker, informing me that Kris had just called him personally regarding the status of my loan! Afterwards I received an email from Kris stating that I now owed him interest.
> While waiting for the loan, I was hassled by his accountant, who wanted an exact date that the loan would be ready, informing me that Kris was thinking of putting a lean on my house. I told them that it was up to the bank, not me, otherwise it would be done already.
> I called Kris when the loan came in, he insisted on getting the check before completing the installation. Then he never finished the job, leaving out much needed shelving and window framing, presumably as “punishment”. I suspect if there had been a man in the household, I would have been treated more professionally and have received much better service.

**Comment from Reynolds Custom Woodworks:**

> Dear Elizabeth,
> After reading your review of our business on Houzz I realize that there are two sides to every experience and story. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with our company.
>
> Hope you have a safe and happy new year.

> We worked with Kris Reynolds for our kitchen and could not be happier with the quality, responsiveness, design skills and costs for the project. We are happy every time we look at the kitchen that we stopped in at Reynolds Custom Woodworks.

**★★★★★ — Steve Robinson, Nov. 2016**

> Kris did a great job and we could not be happier with the outcome of the work with Reynolds Custom Woodworks. Great quality, responsiveness, helpful in the design and had some great ideas on how to make the most use of the kitchen space.

**★★★★★ — Elizabeth Clark, Sept. 2016**

> Kris and his crew built new kitchen cabinets for our condo at Sugarloaf. I had originally looked at cabinets from a kitchen design store but ultimately I went with Kris as it was important to me to support a small local business. I don't think I could have made a better decision. Kris was easy to work with and patient as our layout plans changed. Once plans were finalized our cabinets were built, installed and painted quickly. Our cabinets are solid, beautiful and top quality.

**★★★★★ — Bill Dwyer, Sept. 2016**

> I highly recommend Reynolds Custom Woodworking. We were lucky to find Kris. We live in Central Eastern Maine, and my wife and I decided to take on a complete demo and remodel of 115 year old American Four Square in Bangor, with me as the General Contractor (first time). Back to Kris and Reynolds Custom Woodwork. Forget that the workmanship is exquisite, and that we've been dreaming of custom inset cabinetry for years, forget the one inch solid maple doors and drawer fronts, forget the attention to detail and that you end up with heirloom quality furniture like cabinets, forget all that and you end up with this: A guy who has the patience of a saint while working with us (we designed the place ourselves, and did a majority of the work ourselves). Kris always took our calls and offered advice on just about anything I could ask. We also had him build a custom inset cabinet double vanity for our master bath out of some incredible Doug Fir stock. Kris worked with our poor scheduling, our constant changes, and our inexperience with all the details you pay an architect to deal with. The result, our dream kitchen, a true 'Houzz' kitchen, I did find Kris on Houzz and he has a shop less than an hour from here, in Maine that's unheard of. Our goal was to have an open concept kitchen that would become our family and social centerpiece. Goal achieved, we love kitchen. Looking forward to getting Kris back to help with some new built in details around the house. Thank you Reynolds Custom Woodworks!
