The furniture and belongings you see are from the previous owner, as I am waiting to take possession and going over ideas of how to furnish it myself. I am looking for some suggestions on what colours and set up I should us for furniture, area rug, lamps, curtains, accents, ect, particularly in the living room. With the paint being a darker shade of green throughout, I know I have to brighten it up. You can also notice that it is an open concept, but not the biggest living space. Ways on how to make it "feel" bigger with this specific layout would be great. I'm just looking for some suggestions and guidance on how to give it a fresh earthly feel. I am a very open and easy going 26 year old male, just to give you an idea of the feel i'm looking for. Anything and everything will be much appreciated. Thanks! A: The curtains are like wood tones or neutral. I think you can make those work just fine. **Q: Is anyone willing to help me select art?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I recently posted a dilemma about my dining room table and several people suggested new art to replace what is currently on my wall. I might do that. Here are pictures of the current room and art. The table stays - I just had the top distressed and refinished a darker color. The rug stays - it was expensive and for now, the light fixture is also staying. The current art is 37" wide and 32" high. I'm thinking of about 46 wide and 38 high and maybe a canvas since glare is a problem in this spot. I've included pictures of rug color and drape color (sage/celery from Restoration Hardware). A: 30 x 40" canvas is available too. **Q: Window Treatment ideas** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi! We just moved and I hated the window treatments that were in our living room. Had them taken down. Now, I need to figure out what to put in their place. The file I attached was taken right after our painters finished. A: These are from the JCP website. Cellular, insulating, soft colors, clean-looking, and can adjust from both top and bottom (and they are on sale right now). **Q: Need landscaping advice for 1920 Craftsman** *(in Design Dilemma)* Would love some ideas to spruce up the front of this San Francisco Bay Area bungalow. In particular, the ground slopes north to south, so I'd like to create some way to "retain" the soil, without full retaining walls. (On north side (left on photo) there is no delineation with neighbor's front yard.) The front door faces west, so the front gets decent sun, but we are in the fog belt. California natives (like poppies and grasses) do well. Not really any room for a tree. Should I build up the side of the driveway a bit? Should I nix the shrubs? One more thing - the garage door will be made bigger so that it's right edge is in line with the right edge of the window. So the driveway/planting strip will become more narrow. Thanks Houzz experts! A: I love your house! The ornamental grasses and flowers are really quite pretty. Although the hedges are not much to look at, my guess is that are doing a pretty good job of holding down the soil already without the overgrowth of roots. I'd think carefully before removing them. **Q: Help I can't take the Pink Anymore** *(in Design Dilemma)* We moved to a home last year and have been hoping to find a way to renovate the dated pink toned master bathroom. We are in our late 50's and the DIY approach is beyond our skill level. Prices are out of control for Reno so we have painted the walls beige to try to neutralize the Pink. Has anyone ever tried painting the old marble-look roman tubs?
