**★★ — Colin Cerniglia, April 2022**

> Initial consultation was good. Service on the day of the project was good too and we are happy with the outcome. However, the communication is beyond horrific. They do not have any type of solidified workflow to properly communicate anything and admitted to having real troubles with this as a company. I would not use their services again or recommend them until they take the time to clean that up. The frustration of it all isn't worth it when there are plenty of companies out there we can do just as fine a job with excellent customer service.

> We hired Metro Greenscape to build a gas outdoor fireplace in our outdoor living area, tile the existing concrete patio, and build a paver patio next to the outdoor living area. Overall the process and end result were painful and a bit disappointing.
>
> If you are looking for a contractor that can manage and deliver on ALL aspects of the project allowing you to be totally hands-off and an all-in bottom-line price, you might want to look elsewhere. As seen in a previous review, project management was terrible. The project began in November and was so-called completed the first week in January. The paver patio was completed with the wrong paver and had to be re-done with the correct pavers. Materials and equipment were left in our yard and driveway as the project lingered on.
>
> We needed to buy our own tile and provide an internet link explaining how the tile is installed on an exterior concrete slab, we had to go purchase our own gas fireplace insert, logs, and screen causing some confusion and stress on us, we had to separately pay for the electrical, and plumbing (gas line) work required.
>
> The fireplace was not finished off/trimmed to our satisfaction. We had to ask them to please come out and trim off the top of the fireplace and hide the conduit that came down on top of the stonework before we would make the final payment. The yard repair looks like we will be left with some seeding and leveling at very least come spring.

**★ — Brooks Dauterive, Jan. 2020**

> Hired MetroGreenscape in December for landscape lighting and yard cleanup. The end-result was acceptable, however the process during the 3 days they took to install was extremely disorganized and the communication from the project manager was less than acceptable. The project was supposed to take one day, but when the work was left unfinished at the end of each day nobody reached out to let me know what was going on. When I would call the project manager, I would get a text message back saying "call you right back" then never hear from him.
> On the second day when the lanscape lights were supposed to be installed I came home at noon to find everyone had left. When I finally got in touch with the project manager he said "I let them leave because they weren't sure where to put the lights", even though written instructions were already drawn up and given to them by the supervisor prior to the project starting - either way, it was totally unacceptable to let that happen. Having to call and ask for updates and having a 1-day project last 3 days created a lot of stress for me and my husband who were constantly having to leave work and come home to check on things. Would not recommend simply due to the stress of having their project managers not doing the basics of their job.
>
> I left a "not satisfied" response back directly to the company after the project. I received a phone call about 2 weeks ago from the office manager saying that their COO wanted to sit down and discuss my review with me as my report of events did not accurately reflect the company values they had. I welcomed a phone call (to make it convenient for everyone) and they said he would be in touch. 2 weeks later I still have not heard back.

**Comment from MetroGreenscape:**

> We were getting quotes on an outdoor patio. Spoke and/or met (separately) with Todd Cioppa and Tina Collins. Cost $99 for them to come out for an estimate. They did not even provide an estimate. The date they came out was 11/27/2017. Forgot to leave a poor review before, only thing that reminded me was we are looking for more work to our yard. We are making sure not to deal with this company. Paid $99 so I could get an estimate, and couldn't even get that.

**★★★★★ — John Megel, Feb. 2018**

> Metro Greenscape exceeded all my expectations. After moving into a house last year and getting multiple quotes for a patio and landscaping install, I moved forward with this firm and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Todd made the process easy. After an enjoyable low pressure initial consultation he came back with several designs.
>
> Todd’s quote was more competitive than the others and he was able to start the project in 3 weeks when everyone else wanted months in lead time. MGS transformed my backyard in 9-days and did an amazing job...it was more art work than landscaping. I’m more than willing for them to use my yard as a reference for future projects. I plan to use them for future projects.

**Comment from MetroGreenscape:**

> Thank you for the kind words! It was a pleasure working with you and we are beyond excited that you are happy with the result! We look forward to working with you in the future.

**★★★★★ — Chad, Dec. 2017**

> The team at Metro Greenscape really understand customer service from making themselves available at various appointment times, their responsiveness on all items involved with the project, and ensuring that you are fully satisfied with the outcome. Todd did an incredible job managing all aspects of the project delivering above and beyond my expectations.

**★★★★★ — Josh, May 2017**

> I needed a quote for a front yard makeover and called Metro-Green Scapes because of all their positive reviews. Stacey L. quickly called me back to schedule an estimate. She was on time and highly professional during our discussions. She obviously has a vast knowledge of landscape design and I felt very comfortable with her suggestions. The price was fair and I'm sure Metro will be a finalist when it comes time to make a final decision. I would not hesitate to refer them to friends and neighbors. Ask for Stacey she was awesome!

**Comment from MetroGreenscape:**

> Thank you for posting about your MGS experience. We're glad to hear Stacey provided you with the information you needed and demonstrated the excellent customer service we strive to provide. We hope to work with you!

**★★★★★ — George Faulk, May 2017**

> Absolutely the most creative, dependable and conscientious contractors of any kind that I have ever employed. Have used Darin and his team for over 8 years on several projects....will continue to do so.

**Comment from MetroGreenscape:**

> We are happy to be of service to you and thank you for your loyalty!

**★★★★ — Amanda Moore, April 2017**

> The outcome was perfect but the process had a few bumps in the road. We contracted and had been given drawings with pictures of paver etc which we loved. We received grey paver that was not what was agreed upon (we had asked for tan color)- we addressed this with Chris and within hours we had several samples at our door to choose from. We picked the most tan by then when the new bunch showed up it once again was much more grey than the sample and still not what we anticipated based on the drawings. I made Chris aware that I was concerned and he promised to get paver that we wanted even if that meant there would be an additional cost and assured us this would not be charged to us. Ultimately we got beautiful paver but due to some miscommunication amongst the project manager and owner some accusations were made about us not wanting to pay the additional cost which put a bad taste in our mouth but immediately once the confusion was realized everyone went above and beyond to apologize for the misunderstanding and bent over backwards to make things right (which they didn't have to do at all and was very much appreciated) this was the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5- the overall outcome was a 10 the men who leveled out the land, installed the paver, laid the sod and planted the plants were INCREDIBLE- they finished 2 weeks sooner than anticipated were Such hard working and efficient men who left no trace that they were even there and they did everything to perfection. I think overall the product and service was excellent but the issue we had with miscommunication was upsetting but they more than made up for it with the final product - the sod is already green and growing 2 weeks later and we got compliments from everyone in our neighborhood. I would recommend reaching out to the owner if you have issues with products instead of just relying on the project manager as I think if I had done that this issue never would have occurred - also make sure you confirm that what is pictured on the contract is in fact what you are getting (color and all).

**Comment from MetroGreenscape:**

> We are pleased that the end result was a positive one, as we strive to be the best service provider we can be!

**★★★★★ — Anthony Perez, March 2017**

> I wanted to write a review about my experience with Metro-Greenscape. I originally contacted them in 2014 and purchased a design for a back yard make over. Unfortunately I got busy and transfered jobs so I went a couple years with out speaking to them. After getting settled into my new job I knew who I wanted to do my back yard. I met with Todd, Darin and Sam at my home and they came out with some great ideas. I am in the building industry and was impressed by the design process. My wife could not envision things so the 3d design that Chris did helped her see what the yard could be. We had an extensive project done by them that includes a new porch, patio, fire pit, landscape and leveling the yard with a retaining wall. Everything was not easy, on the first day there was a hiccup with the historic district which set the project back a month. This was frustrating but I was kept in the loop the entire time and because this was Metro-Greenscape's mistake they ate the cost. We did have a few change orders along the way and a failed inspection but like I said I am used to construction and this is common. We also had a couple items that had to wait until spring because the temperatures got to cold, however we passed final inspection with flying colors. They were creative and value engineering to keep us close to original budget which was helpful. The project was finished on time for our new year's Eve party. We have enjoyed the space having big get-togethers and are now the envy amongst our friends. I would refer Metro-Greenscape to anyone who wants a design build company and can do big projects that are complicated and need a team of people to do it. I do not regret my decision at all even though this was a six figure project. My house is worth more now and most importantly we are enjoying the space and feel we are on vacation every day we go out side.

> My husband and I are relocating from California to the Charlotte area with two young children. A safe backyard with a pool is a must for us. We found the perfect home… but it had no pool, no fence, a sloping back yard and no play area for my children. Before we purchased the home, we met with Darin from Metro Green Scape who gave us great ideas about what we can do. He came up with a great vision of how to transform our yard… he also came up with some cost saving ideas I never would have thought of. We can’t wait to move so he can get started on our new yard. Thanks Darin.

**★★★★★ — Erin Dainer, March 2017**

> They do beautiful work! I had searched for a company for several months before I found metro greenscape. All of the other companies took forever to respond, never showed up for the initial appointment or didn't follow up after our meeting. With metro greenscape, that never happened. They always responded immediately. I love the craftsmanship of my firepit and new deck! Recently I hired them to do my lawn maintenance and they do a perfect job each time.
>
> Pros: beautiful finished product, Contentious workers, great people, timely work
>
> Cons: more expensive than other places

Large canopy trees created a great back ground to the natural landscape. New Fescue sod was installed to prevent erosion in the lawn since the entire property was re-graded for the positive water flow. Recycled brick pavers and blue stone were used to give the design an inspired 18th century meets modern day look. Dead space was filled with an outdoor kitchen and…

  - Description: The clients wanted a mix of natural elements as well as modern clean lines. We chipped out a small mountain side by bringing in just over 100 tons of boulders to build natural retaining walls to build up the back yard to accommodate the swimming pool installation. Doing this also gave the client a level back yard area for their family to enjoy. The basement had no access to the back yard, so we removed a set of windows and installed a set of French doors to give access to the back yard. The desi…
