Since my windows were very tall as opposed to a standard size I wasn't able to purchase a commercially available curtain. I do sew and quilt, so I opted to make my own sheers. I followed the measuring instructions for ordering the correct amount of lace and the sewing directions for making the sheers. The only change I made in sewing was to use cotton thread as opposed to clear polyester. When I ordered the fabric I called and talked to Al. He reviewed my calculations and confirmed the correct yardage for my order. I live in New Mexico and my home is Santa Fe style adobe. I purchased the Scroll lace pattern in white because it is reminiscent of wrought iron which is popular in this part of the country. The lace is absolutely beautiful -- much nicer in real life than was apparent in the small sample. The company was very generous in their measurements, sending me almost 2 yards more than I ordered and paid for. I needed a custom length and called ahead to make sure I was measuring correctly. First of all I spoke to a person right off the bat (no recorded message etc.), and he was very knowledgable about the products. He told me to expect a little play in the length caused by humidity and other conditions. I really appreciated getting the full story about to expect from the curtains.
