With a clearly defined budget of $1.2 million, meticulously documented in the design questionnaire provided by the studio, we embarked on what we hoped would be a collaborative and fruitful journey. Upon receiving the completed design, I was shocked to find that the estimated construction costs from multiple builders ranged from $3 to $4 million, a far cry from what was initially agreed upon.
