> My husband and I hired Cullen Construction a few years ago to convert an office into a TV/family room. The project turned out so well that we decided to completely renovate our garage which hadn't been updated since 1951! It was a major job to say the least, and we were not sure whether it could even be successfully accomplished. So, we contacted Cullen again and met with Jack O'Riordan who is Cullen's Small Projects Manager. Jack was very helpful suggesting ideas based on what we envisioned. He immediately put us at ease with his suggestions and was very patient when we occasionally changed our minds about certain aspects of the job. Jack and his team were very organized, responsive and always cleaned up the project area when they were finished at the end of each day so we could park our cars in the garage at night which we really appreciated! The result was fabulous because the job turned a 1951 garage into a 2026 marvel! Jack and his team also oversaw some fairly major masonry work on another part of our property, and we are extremely pleased with the result. Thank you Cullen Construction and especially Small Projects Manager Jack O'Riordan for doing such a great job!

> Cullen has completed three projects for us over the past three years, including building our home from the ground up. They’ve been a true pleasure to work with every time. They are honest, very easy to work with, and genuinely make these projects stress free for our family. Most recently, Jack and his team finished our basement and their work has once again exceeded our expectations. Their worksite is always clean, they are responsive, and their craftsmanship is beautiful and of high quality. Just as importantly, they respect and work within our budget. We love our home and will continue to rely on them for future projects. Thank you, Cullen!

> Cullen Construction is synonymous with quality.
>
> I have been a satisfied client for more than a decade but my most recent experience -- a complete primary bath renovation and a new laundry room -- exceeded my already high expectations. The entire project was seamless from start to finish, with unwavering attention to detail and service.
>
> Every member of the Cullen team was outstanding but our Project Manager, Joe Paolino, was truly exceptional. His extraordinary management, guidance, communication and personal approach went above and beyond. Joe's commitment to the highest professional standards was evident in every facet of his work -- from time management and problem solving to daily communication. Importantly, Joe approaches his work with an enthusiasm, sincerity, and true commitment to excellence that set him apart. What an absolute pleasure it is to work with Joe!
>
> I cannot recommend Cullen Construction enough and look forward to collaborating on our next project together

> Cullen Construction was amazing. We recently bought a dated home in Chester Springs and Cullen helped us bring it up to today’s standards. They touched every room with flooring, paint, electrical, tile, trim, etc. We converted old spaces into new ones; ie: a sitting room became a new office and an old his and hers separate closets became one large primary closet. And we added new spaces such as a media room in the unfinished part of the basement. They treated the home with care, and worked alongside our family while we lived there seamlessly. We could not be more pleased and would highly recommend. Thank you for transforming our home.

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience working with Cullen Construction!

> We used Cullen to help us restore an historic farm house devastated by a fire. Their dedication to putting it all back the way it was and their expertise in doing so was beyond anything I could have hoped for. It didn't hurt that we had a great architect or that our insurance company was incredibly cooperative...but all that said, it was Cullen who pulled it off and gave us back our home.
>
> I'd give full credit to everyone at Cullen, but Shawn especially deserves special mention for the year and a half of his life that he spent making sure that everything that he and Zach and I envisioned came to fruition.
>
> I could not recommend them any more highly.

> Cullen Construction completed an extensive restoration project at St. David's Episcopal Church. Their work was on the Church, located in the graveyard. We wanted to have the work completed in time to kick off our year long, 300th celebration of the Church. They were able to get the job finished on time and on budget too. The entire Cullen team did a wonderful job. They communicated very well throughout, hired fantastic sub-contractors and took great pride in their work. They were able to source and install period appropriate glass for this project and also look for some period specific hardware. They had some additional recommendations for us and were quite thorough in presenting a number of different cost projections for these additions. Very pleased with the way it turned out. Thanks Cullen team.

> The scope of our work was overall upgrade to exterior including regrading and patio/pool, new roof,siding,entry... as well as new family room with basement rec room below. Everyone at Cullen Construction was very responsive to our needs through the construction process and continue to be available when needs arise years after completion. Living through construction is challenging, but they made it as smooth as possible. The workmanship was top notch and we are very pleased with the project.

> Cullen Construction is a third generation construction company who I have worked with for over 40 years including my own private 1720 farmhouse. In the 1980's I designed an award winning Townhouse complex for Craig Cullen and have completed many projects with them over the years and highly recommend them as being one of the best construction companies on the Main Line of Philadelphia.

> As an interior designer, I have worked with Cullen Construction on several projects including the renovation of my own house. Every project that Cullen has built for me has succeeded my expectations. They truly build from beginning to end. The Cullen firm is made up of exceptional people that are true professionals. From the design team to the carpenters, I am so impressed with every Cullen employee. The incorporation of their own design team starts projects off beautifully. The Cullen design team is able to collaborate seamlessly with all architects and designers. Their estimates are so thorough that there are no surprises in the end. They do a great job of completing bids and giving realistic numbers from the beginning. The building process with Cullen Construction is an exciting journey because they have so much enthusiasm and take joy in their work. They go the extra mile and aim to please. Their craftsmanship is amazing. I literally can go through a Cullen house and can point out all of the small details that they take the time to complete. These details are what make a house memorable. The end result is a beautiful house which is well built, craftsmanship which is high-end, and most importantly, a client who has had a great building experience. I have used them again and again!

> Cullen Construction was wonderful throughout our project. They were very receptive to our ideas and wanted us to be pleased with the final project. I enjoyed working with all their employees and truly missed them when the project was done. Dana kept us very organized before, during and after the project. Megan was wonderful to work with while designing our kitchen. Woody is a calm and responsive leader.

> We began an early 1900s Pennsylvania barn reconstruction at the beginning of 2014. Off of a recommendation from a friend, we ultimately hired Cullen Construction to transform a much neglected barn into what became a beautiful living space that we could not be more pleased with! The project was completed in August after a long, extra rough winter during which they missed not one day (when our power was out they worked off of their generator.) Over the course of the project we always felt as if we were their only client which is a great feeling (even though it was just that) when you are investing so much time and money into a renovation. They certainly offer a "VIP" type service - frequent meetings with detailed accouting, clear chain of command on site, excellent design resources, trust worthy and detail oriented workers. Most impressive was Cullen's ability to hone in on what we were trying to achieve and their talent and creativity in suggesting details that they thought we would like. In the end, those small details transformed our barn into not just a renovated space, but to an impeccable display of beautiful design and craftsmanship.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Are the panels tongue and groove or sheets of paneling** *(in Photo Questions)*

This is the look I want but am having a hard time purchasing wide plank v-groove paneling in my area

A: Hi Susan, this was a custom job and all millwork was run in our shop. Maybe look around at a local cabinet shop or carpenter, they may be able to help you.

**Q: What appliance is to the right of the range? Thank you** *(in Photo Questions)*

First of all, I love this space! It's warn, and cheerful and the kind of space you never want to leave. I figured the dishwasher was to the left of the sink, but am wondering if there are two ovens, one in the range and maybe a second oven to the right of it. I appreciate any clarification you can give me.

A: It is a drawer microwave, thanks for the question

**Q: Where can you get the pendant lights, and do the shades come in colors** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi, the client had purchased these directly. However, Circa Lighting has similar fixtures, I recommend taking a look!
http://www.circalighting.com/category.aspx?cid=39

**Q: Where can I get this chandelier from??** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I am sorry, but this was a client purchase. I would try Visual Comfort
http://www.visualcomfortlightinglights.com

**Q: Is this a working ice box, or is it a refrigerator with hardware?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi Jenni, thanks for the question. This is actually a subzero side by side disguised to look like an icebox. You get the look with the modern convenience. The hardware is non functional but is from an actual old icebox refrigerator.

**Q: What type of wood is used for the island? Color of stain?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for the question! The counter top is a species wood called Asian Rosewood or Flame wood, it was a custom top through the cabinet maker.
