From the very beginning, Steve took the time to truly listen and ask the right questions, making sure he fully understood our vision and goals from the start. We hired them for a large-scale renovation of our West Seattle home, a 700+ sq ft deck addition, exterior facelift, basement bedroom upgrade, and much more; they exceeded our expectations at every turn. > > Their craftsmanship is on another level. Every detail was accounted for, all work was up to code, and our structural engineer even noted that the precision Steve's team brought is rarely seen on residential projects. > > I also want to highlight a situation that really exemplifies Steve's expertise and foresight. While adding a window to the basement bedroom, Steve identified that adding excavation and concrete retaining wall work to the scope would save us significant time and money down the road if addressed now. He took the time to clearly explain the reasoning, walked us through our options, and presented honest tradeoffs so we could make an informed decision. While it did extend the timeline and increase the overall cost, it was ultimately the right call, and we're glad Steve had the knowledge and integrity to bring it to our attention rather than simply complete the original scope and move on. > > Communication was seamless throughout the entire project. Steve keeps you informed every step of the way with regular status updates, transparent cost breakdowns, and honest conversations about any changes to scope or budget. What stood out was his ability to really listen during those conversations. Steve asked thoughtful questions, took our constraints seriously, and never made us feel like changes were an inconvenience. He also worked effortlessly alongside our architect and structural engineer, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. > > What really sets N2 Design apart is their ability to anticipate problems before they arise and guide you toward decisions that serve your long-term interests. They identified gaps in our plans early, presented options, and delivered solutions that respected our budget without cutting corners on quality. > > As long as my wife and I remain in the Seattle area, Steve and N2 Design are the only team we will trust with our home, and we recommend them without hesitation. **Comment from N2 Design Build, LLC:** > This is the kind of review that truly means the world to us—thank you! > > We know how much trust it takes to invite a team into your home, especially for a project of this scale, and we’re so grateful you chose us to be part of it. Steve has always believed that listening first is the foundation of a successful project, so hearing that you felt understood from the very beginning means everything. > > Your project had so many moving parts, and it was a pleasure working alongside you, your architect, and engineer to bring it all together. That basement window moment is exactly how we approach our work—looking ahead, asking the “what ifs,” and making sure you have the information needed to make the best long-term decisions for your home. > > We also truly appreciate you recognizing the craftsmanship of our team. Our trades take a lot of pride in what they do, and comments like yours don’t go unnoticed—they’re what keep us pushing to deliver at the highest level. > > Most importantly, thank you for trusting the process, engaging in the conversations, and being such great partners throughout. That collaboration is what makes projects not only successful, but genuinely enjoyable. > > We’re honored to be your go-to team and look forward to anything you dream up next. **★★★★★ — Sarah, Sept. 2025** > Steve and his crew helped us complete a huge deck remodel this spring (650sq ft). He was very realistic with the quote and had a great eye for aesthetic and functional design. The project took longer than planned due to finding more rotted framing than anticipated, but all the rotted through boards got replaced and we now have a gorgeous, safe deck to enjoy. He was excellent at keeping us updated throughout with his findings and recommendations, and he offered multiple options along the way. Highly recommend N2! **Comment from N2 Design Build, LLC:** > Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you love your new deck and that it turned out so gorgeous and safe for you to enjoy. Steve and the crew truly enjoyed transforming your space and are glad our realistic approach and communication made the process smooth. We understand surprises happen—especially with older framing—and we're happy we could handle it and still deliver a fantastic result. Your recommendation means the world to us! Thanks again for trusting N2 for your project—happy decking! **★★★★★ — Caitlin Burnett, Jan. 2025** > N2 Design was wonderful to work with! Great communication, a high standard of quality, and a friendly team made for a very pleasant working relationship and a smooth project. We couldn’t be happier with how our kitchen remodel turned out! Highly recommend N2 Design! **★★★★★ — WILLIAM ROBERTS, Jan. 2019** > Anderson constructed three sets of custom bi-fold doors for closets in my condo. in Seattle. The Anderson team executed the project perfectly. They were very professional, timely, and precise in their execution. Well done. **★★★★★ — Jim Arkills, Jan. 2019** > My wife and I highly recommend Anderson Design and Construction for your remodeling and building needs. We met with Steve Nagel (Project Manager) Stephan Collier (Architect) and Ross Anderson (Architect) to give them an idea of what our needs were. We primarily worked in tandem with Steve Nagel for our job. His crew was professional, courteous, and after each day of work, cleaned up after themselves so that my wife and I could still use the primary functions in our house. The agreement duration of our remodel was for 60 days. We are happy to report that they completed the job in the time frame that was agreed upon. Each week we were given a spreadsheet of our expenses so that we could stay within our budget. It was a joy to watch the transformation of our project from paper to reality. Do yourself a favor, hire the “Best” with Anderson Design and Construction. They will not disappoint! **★★★★★ — Janet Stallman, Jan. 2018** > We hired Anderson Design & Construction to expand/remodel our kitchen. We were extremely pleased with the entire experience. We found them to be reliable, communicative, and very professional. We always knew when to expect workers, and who they would be. The work was of very high quality, and importantly, on schedule. Steve Nagel was always great about making sure that we were happy with the process and the work. The company stands behind its work, and makes sure you are 100% satisfied at project's end. I would highly recommend this company for any remodel job. **★★★★★ — Jim Lasersohn, March 2016** > I hired Anderson Design and Construction to do a full bathroom remodel that also involved moving an internal wall to expand the size of the bathroom. I had already hired a designer to do the plans and made my tile selections ahead of time. I purchased a pre-fabricated vanity from Wayfair.com for them to install. > > I was extremely happy with my full experience with Anderson Design and Construction. I truly appreciated their overall professionalism, ongoing status communications and bringing my attention to key decisions along the way. They were extremely focused on my satisfaction throughout the entire process. I did need to make some small changes along the way and they accommodated them and the additional costs beyond the original quote were less than 2%. > > I appreciated the speed of the work performed. I often came home to see big progress everyday. My job was quoted at being complete in about 45 days. The majority of it was complete within this time and I had a functioning bathroom within this timeframe which was great. We just had to wait for the shower glass to be manufactured (which can't be measured/ordered until tile work is done). Everything was complete including my requested changes in just over 60 days. > > They also did a good job of keeping the worksite clean so I could still use the rest of my house with minimal disruption. **★★★★★ — InStyle Interior Design, Feb. 2016** > I have had the pleasure of working with Steve Nagel and Anderson Design & Construction for over 5 years. Steve and all other Anderson staff have been professional, friendly, on time and go above and beyond to complete projects with the highest of quality. I highly recommend Steve Nagel and Anderson Design & Construction if you want a job well done. ## Selected projects - [Normandy Park](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/normandy-park-pj-vj~7579816) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 8 - [Issaquah Primary Bathroom](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/issaquah-primary-bathroom-pj-vj~7579866) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 6 - [Arkills Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/arkills-kitchen-dining-room-and-living-room-pj-vj~5553497) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 12 - [Stallman Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/stallman-kitchen-pj-vj~5553471) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 5 - [Lake Side](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/lake-side-pj-vj~593040) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 5 - [Thurman](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/thurman-pj-vj~943630) - Location: Seattle, WA - Photos: 13 - [Alki](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/alki-pj-vj~593018) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 - [Magnolia](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/magnolia-pj-vj~593048) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Architects Home](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/architects-home-pj-vj~599068) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Ballard Office](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/ballard-office-pj-vj~943130) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 5 - [Seward Park](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/seward-park-pj-vj~593035) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 2 [See all 11 projects](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/woodworkers-and-carpenters/n2-design-build-llc-pfvwus-pf~1922030254) --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
