How did you handle the nose of the stairs in order for it to meet code? A: Thank you for your question! I plan my stairs ahead of time, knowing that the stairs will need to be manufactured to hold the weight of the tile along with mortar and grout as well as add a few inches for the sub floor on the treads. I give these notes to the stair manufacturing company and they ensure that the risers the treads meet our local codes. **Q: What to do in foyer?** *(in Design Dilemma)* This is the foyer in our front entrance. We typically don't use this entrance, we walk in from the garage, but when we have company they come to front door. I was just wondering what else I could do with this space to make it look nice and so the front door won't hit anything when it swings inward. Thank you for any help/suggestions!! A: I love this space! Here is what I envision: I gorgeous medium size chandelier so it could reflect the light onto the walls and sparkle at same time against the wall. Add a mirror console, with decorations on top of your favourite cloud. Be bold and go with a fuscia or a teal. Above that, have a fancy mirror to reflect the light of the chandelier and make the entrance way appear larger. On opposite wall, add some framed photos. Beside the console on floor, add a coloured case or statue and finish of with a light coloured floor mat to match the decorations on top of the console.
