The window treatment business runs in my family; starting in 1947, my grandfather, Edgar Daugherty, opened his first custom window treatment business. His business has remained open and active in our family for over 60 years.
 
As a member of the family, I worked in the family business building, repairing and installing all types of window treatments. Upon graduation from college, I returned to the family business, where I learned the full scope of the window treatment business.  Five years later the entrepreneurial spirit within me called upon me to start my own business.
 
January 2001, the doors to Ripley's Blind & Drapery, LLC opened and gave way to a new chapter in the family business; providing Central Texas homes with the highest quality, best prices, and exceptional service in window treatment and design.
 
We have been going and growing strong ever since!

> We had plantation shutters installed throughout the house in stages from 2010-2014, around 22 windows in all. I liked that Ripley, the owner, came out and took all of the measurements himself and in a single visit for the whole house, even though we only ordered a few shutters that first time. It saved time not to have to do that again with each order. Ripley guided us through the many options. He made some recommendations and offered reasons why someone might prefer this or that, which really helped us. Usually we did go along with his recommendations. When we didn't, though, it wasn't a problem. We provided a paint sample for that first order, and the match to our existing woodwork was perfect. Better yet, the paint match between the first set in 2010 and the last set in 2014 was also perfect, despite the fact that I didn't provide another paint sample after the original one. I wanted enamel paint, and Ripley was wise enough not to deliver the shutters too quickly after painting, but instead allowed adequate drying time. I appreciated his good communication on that point so I wasn't left wondering why it was taking a bit longer than the typical job. He advised me not to leave them fully shut for a while, and I heeded that warning just to be sure. Ripley and his installation crew were prompt, friendly, and professional. The quality of the shutters, the painting, and the installation were top-notch. Our electric bills actually dropped every time we had another set installed because the wood insulates so well, both in summer and in winter. When we had an issue, and they were only minor issues, Ripley called me promptly and took care of it, with no issues since. A great experience and a beautiful house. We couldn't be happier.

Their service was outstanding from the initial discussion on what I was looking for, all they way through the selection and installation of the curtains.   They worked with me on each step, kept me informed of when items were had arrived and how long it would take to construct the curtains, as well as scheduling the installation when it was convenient for me.   The quality of the curtains was excellent, and virtually everyone who toured our master bedroom commented on how great they looked.    If you are looking for a company that provides excellent customer service and high quality products, I would not look any further than Ripley's blinds.
