**Q: January 2020 Blooms** *(in Cacti & Succulents)*

What is blooming for you in New Year?
Small aloe, 3 stalks. Had to prop one to get photo - I am sure inflos would be shorter in more sun. But there isn't
much sun during Ontario, Canada winters!

**Q: Plant ID - Pothos?** *(in House Plants)*

This is a plant that is looking pretty bad at work. I think its a Pothos but I can't tell for sure. It has several black nodes along the legs from climbing up walls. Just wanted to know before I put clippings in water to revive it! Thanks :)

A: Yes a definite potho. Ive had mine for years and it has gone through every type of up and down in every environment possible so ask away and please detail the conditions of kighting, watering, new things, or souls.

**Q: My magnificent Spider Plant is sick, yellowing then brown leaves!!** *(in House Plants)*

Hi I bought this giant spider plant from a nursery one month ago. Then the leaves began dying off. They turn yellow and then within a couple days completely die to brown. She is slowly dying and I really love this plant and want to save it. When I first got it I let it be thinking it had been watered recently. Then it really died back on my vacation 3 weeks ago on one side only and I think that was from direct sunlight so it has been moved to a less sunny location. Directly after that it was soaked in the shower because I thought maybe it was really thirsty. I saw its leaf tips were turning brown so now it gets distilled water only, since I read the chlorine and water with fluoride in it. It was repotted two days ago into a pot two inches wider than the one it was in, and 5 inches of soil left at the bottom before the drainage holes. In the old pot it was root bound.  It was given fresh Miracle Grow
soil and fertilized just today with a very weak strength fertilizer. I also trimmed some of the larger babies off of it and planted them separately. Leaves have also been developing vertical brown stripes in the center and cracking. I have also been misting it a few times a week. I'm really worried about the plant and am confused as to how to help despite reading other's questions and answers here on Houzz. Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

A: I have had to pot up my spider 3 times in 6 months because those huge roots make the plant once they are so grown out of control, the top starts to lose its healthy look. I would like to know if i can do something about the outer roots that are so big.

**Q: Very long Pothos vine propogation** *(in House Plants)*

I'm in charge of taking care of all the plants at my work we have a pothos plant that has two extremely long vines, at least 10 feet each. I was wondering if I could cut off a large section of a vine, and cut it into multiple starts, or get the one long section of vine to grow fines from multiple nodes? I'm not sure that that makes sense, but any advice would be appreciated! It needs a good cutting back and I want to make the most of the vines as I can.

A: can someone explain what you mean by nodes and internodes are? in have the exact same issue with my 2 ok this. one is a golden type and the other is the larger leafed green kind.

**Q: elephant ears are up** *(in Tropical Plants)*

my elephant ears were a gift from a GardenWeb member!..planted them June 4th..5 so far..pic\#1 the biggest clump that I put at the back of the bed..pic\#2 a smaller single bulb in front..put a log in front to protect them..pic\#3 the biggest stem that surfaced first..will update as they grow..(thanks Dingo2001)

**Q: Pruning/propogating New plants** *(in Cacti & Succulents)*

Hi all! Got some new babies today, they look big in the photos, that pot is only 6 inches wide.
I'm gonna propagate this Graptopetalum. Now I'm thinking cut at the base of the long stem, just after that pup, and again at 2 inches below the rosette. Don't need the long stem because it can't stand and I don't have that much pot space when I repot them into a smaller pot.  

However are these roots growing at the bend? Should I keep those?
As for basic propogating steps, it's snip, let it callous, plant and water, then water again when dry. How am I doing so far? Just want to be sure, don't want to mess up since its my first time propagating/pruning this heavily.

A: Sun starts from Sun up to Sun down in this window. where abouts do I cut it from?
