> Short version? Mario at Hermoza handed our contract to someone else without asking. Painting the inside of our house took over 2.5 weeks, and several areas of our house still aren't finished about a month after Mario threatened to pull our discount if we didn't pay in full. No effort has been made to come and finish.
>
> I would never recommend Hermoza.
>
> We recently moved to Indy and got a fixer-upper. My brother-in-law Evan recommended Hermoza after they painted his house. Evan described a small army coming in, prepping, painting, and touching up his whole house in a few days - pretty much what we had in the past with another crew in Texas, and exactly what we needed to get our house ready to move in on schedule.
>
> We walked through the house with Mario and Hugo, different paint colors, etc. sent paint codes for different rooms - all good, right? We started to realize something was off when the only people working on the house were Hugo and his helper. The helper would do all kinds of weird things like dip a brush and walk across the house and actually use the brush, but the biggest issue we noticed was that everything was white. We had selected a white color code for the trim and ceilings, but this was EVERYTHING - doors, walls, all of it. The only paint they had were gallons and gallons of white. Talking to Hugo, he somehow got the impression from our walkthrough that it was all white (???) We text Mario, get it straightened out.. great. A few days later we notice ANOTHER wrong color. this time doors and bedrooms. This time Hugo at least had the colors printed out so we could point and show his mistake.. but time is just burning away.
>
> On top of this, we started asking ourselves "why doesn't Hugo's van have a Hermoza logo?", "why is Mario never here?" and then we realize that Mario just handed our contract over to Hugo without consulting us. Great.

> Fast forward to the week of Thanksgiving, over two weeks into our house being painted, a week of extending the UHaul with all of our belongings, and we're nowhere close to being done. I email Mario my concerns on a Monday (so there's plenty of time to do whatever is needed) that we really can't extend the UHaul further - and he promises he'll get more guys on and they'll be done Friday. No more painters come UNTIL FRIDAY. Of course now we've got trim painted some places not others, runs, colors bleeding through, just a general sloppy rush job. The best part? They still weren't done. My brother in law sat there with our equipment rental burning money all of Saturday because they couldn't finish when promised.

> I've been working on the house and I STILL FIND BLUE PAINT SPRAY because Hugo couldn't be bothered to mask off areas he was spraying. There are multiple areas that were supposed to be fixed and haven't, and at this point I don't want any more sloppy painters in the house.

> We found this company on Nextdoor with a lot of good reviews. Found ourselves with thousands of dollars worth of damage and windows painted shut after asking to have trim and windows painted. We were assured windows would be removed before painting, this was a lie. A year later and still can’t open multiple windows in our home. Not to mention the paint all over our carpet both upstairs and down. We received a “discount” for the crappy work and honestly should bill them since it’s costing more to fix what they ruined. DO NOT use this company.

> Mario and his company were reccomended to us by our real estate agent. Our job was not started until 2 days after the agreed upon start which left Mario’s crew working non stop trying to complete at the agreed upon completion time. Everything but touch ups a door, and some vanities were nearly complete. Although the job wasn’t finished Mario and my husband agreed to give his crew the weekend off and to return to complete the work first thing Monday. Sadly, 4 days later no word. When we did reach Mario he said the job was more than he had thought and that he had “felt pressured” into completing aspects of it despite multiple conversations and an agreed upon written list of all tasks to be completed. He stated they wouldn’t be back to finish only to do any touch ups if we would like. It’s really sad. His men worked very hard and one more day of touch ups and agreed on work and we would have been highly satisfied customers. Instead our realtor will no longer refer work to him and we are considering our legal options.

**Comment from Void:**

> Hi Elizebeth, We are still pending a response from you to schedule your touch-ups. We responded to your review on FaceBook yesterday as well to contact us. I'm not sure if you're not getting all of our text or reply messages. Please check your text messages from last Thursday and Friday. We believe it was your husband’s number. We responded to the group text. We have requested a couple of times that you send us your email so that we could communicate directly with you instead of going through your Realtor since that Avenue has caused quite a bit of miscommunication. Please text us back or call us at 317-506-8626 or email us at mario@hermozahb.com so that we can resolve this. Thank you!

> Mario was great from the start. He was able to come over to our new home just after closing, and then to make it better, his team was able to come in and get our interior painted before the movers came. It made it feel more like home so quickly! His team was very courteous and cleaned up at the end of each day. They made sure to go back and do any touch ups that were needed. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future

> Seriously. These Guys! I've hired them twice to paint at my house, multiple rooms. Both times, they finished the job faster than I was ever expecting, and the quality was amazing. So far, they've done my kitchen, living room, entry-way, powder room, baseboards, master bedroom and bath, and daughter's bedroom. Can't wait to hire them for the rest!

> I hired Mario and his team to paint the exterior of my home.
> Initially they were responsive to come out and quote the job but once hired they did a substandard job and ultimately left the job incomplete.
> The biggest problem was that they oversprayed everywhere including on the grass, mulch, electrical boxes, plugs, screens, hoses, light fixtures, the bright house cable box, the driveway and even on an extension cord. I'm not exaggerating... it was actually all of those things.
> Mistakes happen so I tried to work it out with him.
> I asked Mario to correct this issues and he said he would come back in 2 weeks to fix the issues and he did not show, and won't return calls.
> The job is still incomplete and in my humble opinion this is very poor work and bad customer service.
> Please think twice about hiring them.

**★★★★★ — Davy DeLong, May 2017**

> We used Hermoza to have our deck power-washed and re-stained. Kathy was very responsive and helpful in getting us a quote and scheduling the work. Mario was incredibly professional and upbeat; he really went above and beyond to make sure the work was done correctly, and on time. He was available for a walkthrough and questions before accepting final payment. I can't recommend them highly enough.

**★★★★★ — Lloyd Smiley, Feb. 2017**

> Very professional company. Would recommend them to anyone to do the job correctly the first time. They were very careful and the workmanship was top notch.

**★★★★ — Julie Meier, Feb. 2017**

> I emailed them a list of things I needed done. They came and looked at house and then emailed me quickly with an estimate that was very reasonable. I was running on short time limit and they were very helpful coming in at short notice and completing my list. I needed patching of wall and ceiling area's, and caulking done and they did it well. I also decided at the last moment to paint master bedroom and bath and I employed them again to do that. Excellent work. Wonderful people to work with and prices something in my budget.

**★★★★★ — Walter Bucklew, Jan. 2017**

> Great Painting Service provider and great people. I highly recommend this team for all of your interior and exterior work.

**★★★★ — skeeter6217, Dec. 2016**

> Very quick to respond to our families request for painting. I don't give five stars to any company because I always believe there's room for improvement but Mario and Kathy did an excellent job. I actually hired them to paint an office for us after they painted our house.
