Additionally, Kelsey worked with us to repurpose what we could from our existing home, which we really appreciated. She has a great eye for design in addition to a very thoughtful approach to creating useful spaces. Each room she designed honored the history of our house while also reflecting our personal style and our lifestyle with two young children. She had great recommendations for tradespeople and handled all the coordination with them --whenever an issue arose, she handled it quickly and thoroughly. We had such a great experience with Kelsey that we ended up coming back to her when we were ready to tackle a few more projects! These included larger structural changes including window redesign/replacement, re-tiling, and the installation of a new HVAC system. > I stumbled onto haywoodmade and Kelsey via a Facebook Mom's group comment section that recommended interior designers. The commenters said she was kind, reliable, responsive, nice, had a great eye for design and (most important to me) understood how to design a beautiful home while accounting for young children. Kelsey and her team helped us fully gut our kitchen and updated our first floor (painting, light fixture updates, purchasing new rugs, reupholstering vintage furniture, sourcing new furniture). Kelsey is smart and attentive to detail. Quick example: she picked up on the fact that we have a TON of books in our house and, without us ever asking for it, surprised us by creatively including built-in bookshelves in our new kitchen. I never would have thought of the idea and the addition has been so helpful / utilized in our new space. As you'll see from the photos in her portfolio (look for the Oakdale kitchen), she delivered an INCREDIBLE final result and did so on schedule. I also appreciated Kelsey's ability to set realistic budget expectations and her commitment to stick to that number throughout the process.

We had been left with some unfortunate circumstances with various vendors, in addition to myriad unfinished projects and an overall sense of chaos. Our house is new construction and we were starting from scratch in terms of finishes. Luckily, the family that purchased our old house knew Kelsey. We saw how she transformed our former home and demanded her name immediately! You can probably tell from photographs that she has a keen eye for design, and listens to her client's vision and desires for function and design. In addition, she is respectful of budget and timelines, always explaining our options so that we know what to expect. She is extremely organized. There is never any question of how her time is spent, or what a particular invoice is for. We always know where we stand in terms of outstanding items. And, if there is ever any question, we have found her very responsive anytime we reach out. Sometimes my husband and I will throw separate ideas and projects at her, and she handles it all with ease, funneling it together so we remain on the same page. We've definitely had our share of challenges, and I'm grateful that we have Kelsey to help us research, negotiate, facilitate, and placate! Sometimes we'd feel like we hit a brick wall, but she always came through with an idea or vendor that solved the problem. Best of all, she's a very nice, congenial person - the kind who leaves a place better than how she found it. You won't find yourself up against any ego or her idea of what you should do. While we initially hired her to help us finish our house, we have found ourselves continuing the relationship as we fine tune each room. In short, we definitely would recommend Kelsey and haywoodmade interiors!
