### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Amy Woodward, April 2023**

> Kim did a great job on our design incorporating and providing great ideas on how to best utilize the space while making sure it met the Localscapes requirements. I love the book on how to care for the plants included in the design as well as other plants that could be used in place of hard to find plants.

**Comment from Eden's Garden Design:**

> There are a lot of elements that contribute to a landscape design to make it all work just right! I am glad to be a part of your project!

**★★★★★ — DG, Dec. 2022**

> Kim immediately had a lot of great ideas for my backyard! She even had some ideas that I didn't even think were a possibility. She tried to envision a space that would be great for adults and kids to have fun. She was able to create detailed blueprints and make a lot of great suggestions for plants.

**★★★★★ — Andrea, Nov. 2022**

> We asked Kim to design our backyard to maximize the view, attract bees, butterflies and birds, and be water wise. Her design knocked it out of the park. So much color, texture and variety in the plants that were chosen. She included with the plan a document with images and information on every single plant she included, which was very helpful in visualizing what it will look like. We will be implementing the plan next summer and I cannot wait to enjoy it.

**★★★★★ — HU-179689819, Nov. 2022**

> Kim Eden is insightful and creative, flexible and reliable. We had a wonderful experience working with her and she delivered exactly what we were looking for. She was recommended by our installer, so we know they work well together and trust one another's work.

**★★★★★ — rileymeister, Nov. 2022**

> Kim was awesome to work with. Very quick to respond to any questions and her design was amazing and well thought out. I would highly recommend her design services to anyone.

**★★★★★ — Florence, Nov. 2022**

> Kim Eden was easy to work with on my front yard design. It's hard to imagine the finished product from the ideas, but the truth is in the final result, and mine turned out great! Now it's just waiting for it to grow!

**★★★★★ — Molly Wilets, Nov. 2022**

> Loved Kims designs. She was so accommodating and designed my yard exactly how I wanted it! I highly recommend her for your landscape design.

**★★★★★ — Kim Shemwell, Nov. 2022**

**★★★★★ — David Mackay, Oct. 2022**

> Very happy with Eden's landscape design for our home. Eden is very knowledgeable. She is very good at explaining why she makes the recommendations. We learned a lot from her. She listens to what we like and makes adjustments to plans to match our preferences. We look forward to getting the design implemented.

**★★★★★ — Blick Family, Sept. 2022**

> Kim has been so amazing to work with! She is super responsive with follow up questions and really takes into consideration your wants and needs and has suggestions of things specific to our stage in life that I didn't even think of planning around. We loved her beautiful, thoughtful, and detailed design she put together for our quarter acre property!

**★★★★★ — Ashley Welling, Aug. 2022**

> Kim was very easy to work with. Her prices were the best of those we got bids for. She did a fabulous job. She came out and we talked and walked the property. She asked us what we wanted. She was prompt and got the job done quickly. When we needed to make a few revisions to the initial plan it was easy to make. We used one of her recommended landscaping companies to then do the job. It turned out so beautiful. We love the space she designed in our yard.

**★★★★★ — kanebrooke, Aug. 2022**

> Kim is so easy to work with. She’s prompt in communicating and completing her work. She listened attentively to what we wanted to accomplish and found beautiful and efficient ways to get there. She has great installation company recommendations as well. We love her attention to plants that do well in our climate. She has extensive knowledge of materials and plants and their potential benefits and shortfalls. Her plan for our yard was even better than we had envisioned would be possible. Highest of recommendations!

## Selected projects

- [Dry Creek Native](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/dry-creek-native-pj-vj~7075888)
  - Location: Salt Lake City, UT
  - Photos: 9
  - Description: This project was challenging for two main reasons; The yard had a fairly steep incline as well as the main goal was water conservation. In addition, the shape of the yard provided an interesting dynamic. I was able to create a three tier system with a walking path on top and a dry creek bed to connect the various elements. The pictures show a work in progress as the plants haven't been installed fully, but they were all chosen to be able to thrive in low water areas.
- [Cozy Cottage Garden](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/cozy-cottage-garden-pj-vj~7075886)
  - Location: Salt Lake City, UT
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: The homeowner for this project had limited mobility, so ease of access as well as maintenance was paramount in this design. Different areas were kept open and wide and the plants were chosen by their hardiness as well as beauty. I was able to use existing beds for the most part so the installation was also not difficult.
- [Calming Traditional Design](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/calming-traditional-design-pj-vj~7074946)
  - Location: Cottonwood Heights, UT
  - Photos: 20
  - Description: This project was already a well established yard and the homeowner did not want major alterations. But it was rather chaotic and disjointed. I was able to rearrange several of the plants currently in place as well as incorporate new ones into the already existing beds so the installation was not overly expensive or time consuming. The end product was much more unified and calming to look at as well as spend time in.
- [Luxury Family Deck](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/luxury-family-deck-pj-vj~7075892)
  - Location: Herriman, UT
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: The goal of this design was to make a seamless extension to the house that felt like just another great room to be in. It also needed to flow into the existing hardscaping. The location of the doors provided a bit of a challenge, but thinking a little outside the normal shape of a deck solved that. You can't even tell that the roofline had to be extended.
- [Low Maintenance English Garden](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/low-maintenance-english-garden-pj-vj~7075890)
  - Location: Saratoga Springs, UT
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: This design was especially fun. The steep slope to the fairly narrow backyard provided a bit of challenge since the owner needed to keep it as easy to access as possible. My favorite part was the side yard where we were able to put in a 'secret garden' that is both soothing to be in as well as easy to maintain.
- [Mountain Meadow Garden](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/mountain-meadow-garden-pj-vj~7075894)
  - Location: Cottonwood Heights, UT
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: The owner loved the views on this property and wanted to take full advantage of them. A massive slope that leads directly into the house is always a challenge, but I was able to incorporate many paths and retaining walls to direct any runoff properly. The paths also allow access to the many smaller gardens on the different terraces for easy harvesting.
- [Natural Rock Garden](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/natural-rock-garden-pj-vj~7075899)
  - Location: Bountiful, UT
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: I love how this project turned out. The back yard was insanely steep and the owner was planning on doing all the work alone. So, I had to design a space that didn't require heavy machinery. Plus weeds had nearly overtaken the entire space. Now it is a beautiful area that also is fairly easy to access and maintain.
- [Contemporary Craftsman Design](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-craftsman-design-pj-vj~6844568)
  - Location: South Jordan, UT
  - Photos: 14
  - Description: The architecture of this property was very unique and the owner wanted to extend that to the landscape. So, I was able to blend modern with craftsman. Hence the straight lines and sharp corners, but softened by the plant choice and location. Low maintenance was also a priority.
- [Fun Family Traditional Design](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/fun-family-traditional-design-pj-vj~5327610)
  - Location: South Jordan, UT
  - Photos: 16
  - Description: The owner wanted to keep things fairly straightforward but still have tons of space to entertain. The goal was to make it as function as possible so there are several sitting areas as well as spaces for play and just socializing. I was able to get a few before pictures on this one as well to show the transformation.
- [Mountain Charm](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/mountain-charm-pj-vj~6033645)
  - Location: Salt Lake City, UT
  - Photos: 8
  - Description: This property had an established landscape but it was in need of repair and revitalizing. Many of the plants were also succumbing to disease. I was able to reuse much of the existing area while renewing the spaces with proper care and plant choice. Another goal to was limit the noise from the surrounding area.
- [Contemporary Design 2](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-design-2-pj-vj~6540293)
  - Location: Provo, UT
  - Photos: 13
  - Description: The owner wanted a minimalist modern design, but the shape of the property made that rather difficult. I was still able to create a unique space while accounting for the less than ideal slope and shape of the yard. The rather striking walking path of square stone and gravel turned out especially well.
- [Annual Flower Display](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/annual-flower-display-pj-vj~6844591)
  - Location: Salt Lake City, UT
  - Photos: 5
- [Traditional Design](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/traditional-design-pj-vj~6055626)
  - Location: South Jordan, UT
  - Photos: 15
  - Description: The main goal of this design to increase the level of privacy in the space. I also need to not change any of the slope and utilize much of the existing plants and hardscaping. I was able to make the entire yard more cozy but also creating distinct spaces throughout the property.
- [Neighborhood Friendly Front Yard](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/neighborhood-friendly-front-yard-pj-vj~6844598)
  - Location: Herriman, UT
  - Photos: 15
  - Description: This design was only for the front yard. The owner wanted an inviting area to entertain neighbors and friends. I was able to squeeze in a courtyard as well a few other small seating areas. Space was a little tight, but the finished product is not cluttered in any way. It is also very drought resistant
- [Active Lifestyle Design](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/active-lifestyle-design-pj-vj~5327578)
  - Location: South Jordan, UT
  - Photos: 10
  - Description: The owner wanted to utilize as much space as possible for playtime. This did prove challenging since their was a marked slope throughout the lawn. I was able to use strategic retaining walls to keep the wide areas as flat as possible. This allowed for good sightlines to watch children. I also was able to keep a few areas for sitting and shade.
- [Contemporary Design](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-design-pj-vj~3144760)
  - Location: Sandy, UT
  - Photos: 8
  - Description: The owner wanted to create a fun place for the family to gather together. In addition, water conservation was a must. On top of that, i was tasked with making it more modern than usual. The final space is now very function and drought resistant as well as being visually stunning.
- [Traditional Flower Bed Design](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/traditional-flower-bed-design-pj-vj~6844575)
  - Location: Herriman, UT
  - Photos: 5
  - Description: The owner did not want to change the existing beds, but did want to make the entire area simply look better. I was able to swap around much of the plants for better options, not only increasing curb appeal, but also reducing the water consumption
- [Alpine Curb Appeal](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/alpine-curb-appeal-pj-vj~6844596)
  - Location: Salt Lake City, UT
  - Photos: 3
  - Description: This property was extremely overgrown and very sickly looking. Even some of the fencing was showing its age. After most of it was removed and the damaged areas fixed, it was a fairly simple process of choosing the correct plants that wouldn't get so cumbersome. This as well as the plant clusters mad eth curb appeal increase drastically
- [Open Calming Space](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/open-calming-space-pj-vj~6844577)
  - Location: Salt Lake City, UT
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: This space originally was rather chaotic and had gotten struck with disease. The owner wanted to create a simple space to create a calming atmosphere. I made a design where each area flowed directly into the next. The sight lines are graceful and almost blend into the landscape.
