We agreed on a fixed fee for her services. Had I only paid that I would of been a satisfied customer. Come to find out much later that in addition to charging me the fixed fee for her services as expected, she also charged me well above the retail prices for every item I ordered through her. I only found this out after the fact after I went through and spent several hours searching for the exact brand name items she ordered for me (most were easy to find through wayfair or similar sites.) Many of the items she up-charged very significantly. I could of saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars had I just ordered the items online myself. When I confronted her about this and told her I did not know that I would be up charged on items in addition to paying the agreed on fixed fee for her services she replied “well I didn’t say I wouldn’t.” Looking back on everything, I feel that I paid way too much for the services and the value of the items purchased. The original fixed fee we agreed to was to be expected. But with the up charges added on unknowingly during the process I paid close to double in fees than I expected to. We always deliver what we promise and reading your words seems that you have you approved our design and with satisfaction.. > > •We never purchase product on the client’s behalf without his signed approval and request full deposit in advance when we manage those orders. > > •We do work with flat fees or hourly fees and depending on the project, the client's budget and work involved we charge and extra 12% to 15% administration fees from retail price when we purchase on behalf of the client . > > •Were you charged administration fees? > > •We always respect the client’s budget and give several item options with different price ranges for him to choose from > > •Were our offered proposals by us within your overall budget? I find it hard to believe that we passed. > > •Our sophisticated online software gives the client the option to approve or decline any of our suggested item giving him full control over the project costs room by room. He has 3 days to approve or decline those item in order to secure market prices except for custom made. items. > The approved items are then turned into an invoiced and for this he declined a second and third option is offered as replacement based on his comments. > > The client has even an option to comment under each item for replacement, price or other aspects. > > •Did you approve or decline or comment below the items we proposed? > > •In our letters of agreement we make sure to let them know that as designers do have no control over market price fluctuation from large on-line retail stores and mega distributors such as Wayfair or similar sites. Their discount policy is related to the million- dollar-businesses they do with wholesalers or manufacturers on a daily basis. > > •When our clients comment on differences and fluctuations we have always managed to match the online prices because our administration fee covers those differences. > > •Now when you say you would have saved hundreds or thousands of dollars if you had ordered the items yourself. My question is how would you have been able to order the items we selected in an elegant composition, color palette, floor plan with exact measurements , detailed proposal with quotes if you hadn’t hired us? > > •Should you have read our FAQ ( read below) handed with the Letter of Agreement you signed, maybe things would have been clearer for you. > > •At last would I have known your identity I would have surely tried to reach you and sort things out as in my 30 years of career I was never confronted with such a situation..
