I will say more about courtesy and service at the end of this review. > > IDesign Kitchen and Bath was the fifth interview we conducted for this job. They were not the least expensive nor the most expensive but they did outline the job as I wanted it to be done and as it needed to be done. The bathroom needed to be completely demolished and rebuilt. Houses built one hundred years ago are not level and square and everything needed to be leveled and squared to accommodate new fixtures, lighting, ventilation, heating and a shower. > > We had an old tub, sink, radiator and toilet removed and replaced. Wall and floor tiles were replaced and ventilation was added. If the completed job is the only thing I am reviewing I can honestly say that it is completed beautifully. I sometimes find myself standing in the bathroom admiring the quality of the work. Job well done. Thank you! > > If there is a negative thing to share it’s that the job was not completed within the projected time schedule. BUT in a 100 + year old house, there are hidden problems. Things like a cracked plumbing stack and beams being in unexpected places that blocked access for new plumbing. Those hidden problems were uncovered and had to be replaced or repaired. I first thought “This is where they are going to compensate for their reasonable estimate.” Yes there were additional cost to repair those hidden problems but the costs to do so were very, very reasonable. Their fees were actually much less than similar work that I’d had done in other areas of the house earlier. They actually corrected and repaired work that had been incorrectly done in that area of the house. As for the projected time, I have two suburban friends who were having similar work done in their newer houses and guess what; their jobs ran overtime too. Still five stars. > > However I did say that I’d write about courtesy and service. I find that true courtesy and true service has been difficult to find for a few decades. Every contact that I’ve had with IDesign Kitchen and Bath has been courteous and the service was excellent. > > In addition to the estimate I was surprised that there were additional courtesies that were not included in the estimate. I won’t way what they were as you will probable get a few additional courtesies too but they might be different than mine. I will share two though. The work was extended into Thanksgiving time and we were having family for dinner. They provided house cleaning to help us prepare for the holiday dinner. FIVE + STARS! > > Another courtesy: We had ordered groceries that were left by the front door. As the workers were finishing the day we were standing by the door. We saw the groceries but they insisted on carrying them to the kitchen for us before they left. FIVE + STARS! > I judge service by asking one question.
