> I've known Matthew my entire life and he's always had a strong design sensibility. I've seen his skill and taste evolve to a consummate professional architect and interior designer. I have visited several projects that display a wide range of styles. He's assisted me several times with my homes and the results were always perfect. He is highly recommended.

**★ — Chris Dixon, March 2016**

> I paid him $15,000 and he disappeared and won't respond to email, calls and texts. Tried contacting him many times over several months and no response.

**★★★★★ — Lost Art Salon, Nov. 2014**

> The first project we collaborated with Matthew MacCaul Turner was through the San Francisco Decorator Showhouse years ago. Matthew had asked us to collaborate with the art programing for a hallway and a central niche. Since then, we've worked with Matthew on several projects and have enjoyed his regular visits at Lost Art Salon. Matthew is always interested in new art collections we present and is always thinking about how our collection can be a resource for his current projects. His ability to mix ornate and Modern is stunning. And Matthew's sense of design and architecture allows him to work on projects from start to finish. And what else to say when a professional relationship turns into a great friendship!

**★★★★★ — PJ, Aug. 2012**

> Matthew created our lighting and floor plan transforming an ordinary space into a mix of modern and classic with pops of color. Matthew is extremely professional, incredibly talented and is well respected among his colleagues and industry professionals. I look forward to the chance to get to work with him again!

> Working closely with Matthew to select art for a client, I observed in action his exquisite taste, and the warm and easy relationship he has with his clients. I am a long time admirer of his style and thoughtful approach to interiors. I look forward to seeing him at the 2012 SF Designers Showcase.

> I give Matthew my highest recommendation! He is creative, diligent, as well as patient. He took his time and listened to what was important to me, but also learned my tastes and helped lead me to some brilliant ideas that I would have never come to on my own. I will certainly use him in the future, and until then I'll keep loving and enjoying my hip retreat. Thanks Matthew!

> Planning and implementing the design of our children's bedrooms with Matthew was truly a pleasure. We are so thankful to Katherine Jacobus for recommending him. Marrying Matthew's sophisticated style with the contemporary ideals of the children was a perfect union for the start of the renovation plans. He met with all of us multiple times, the children included, to listen to our needs and wants. He encouraged us to bring our ideas to the planning process while at the same time staying true to the professional design principals that he is known for. The rooms turned out great and we can't thank Matthew enough for giving us what we were looking for. And...we are excited to work on our next project with him soon!

> Matthew drew the plans that helped update my out-dated, eighties condo into the dramatic show-stopping penthouse it has become! He is professional and easy to work with. His ideas bring so much to a project. I highly recommend him.

**★★★★★ — pamd01, Feb. 2012**

> Matthew is an outstanding professional. I'm a real estate broker, and I've worked with several designers. I can honestly say that Matthew is one of the very best. Matthew's worked with many of my clients. He has excellent tastes and is truly organized and easy to work with. Matthew's done exceptional design work on The Designer Showcase houses, but is also capable of working with "real" homeowners. He is reliable, focused and very talented. I would highly recommend him.

**★★★★★ — Kogarasu, Feb. 2012**

> Having worked with Matthew for many years, we have been privileged to both experience firsthand his design talents and personal client-skills. He is personable, professional and an interior designer of considerable skill. Over the years, we have placed screen-paintings and other Japanese treasures in his clients' spaces and are always amazed by his diversity of style and his ability to blend items of various eras to create his own unique artistic vernacular while guiding his clients with the warmest of temperments.

> Matthew Turner is what all of us want in a great designer: someone who listens to our desires and plans, offers expert advice yet willing to modify plans/ideas as circumstances change. He always searches for the best value for your money, offering alternative options at every turn. He keeps himself very current and knowledgeable, and his taste level is impeccable as evidenced from his portfolio and clientele. I was lucky that he was able to make time for my major remodel/fixer in Whitley Heights, Los Angeles. This is a charming 1920's home which had seen neglect and poor (zero) design over the years. We are slowly coaxing her back into the beauty she once was. I could never have done this without Matthew's expertise, advice and support.
> When we are further along, I will post photos so everyone can marvel at the transformations wrought with his invaluable advice. I would not hesitate to recommend, or hire him again.

**★★★★★ — David Duncan Livingston, Feb. 2012**

> The design field has a wide range of talented folks, very few have Mathew's ability to create and detail interior architecture that blends so well with a rooms final feeling. His rooms have ethos and crafted with finesse. Mathew is the genuine item, a hidden gem in field where it is sometimes hard to vet the best. Professionally Mathew is of the highest standard and always pleasant to be around.

  - Description: For my fourth showcase room, an artist home studio, I found inspiration in the past. I sought out photographs of famous art studios of the 19th and 20th century occupied by artists like Brancusi, Picasso, and Giacometti. Studying the photographs of these artists’ personal ateliers formed my desire to create a space that captured that essence. I commissioned a painted floor, truly the largest work of art in the room. Wall covering was pealed off exposing the original crumbling plaster. The result…
