As someone who is only starting out it's impossible to pay for the big expensive softwares that most comapnies are using, but I would like to find something just as good quality. Any suggestions on what people are using these days? A: Sketchup is a really good introduction into 3D modeling, and you can download a free 30 day trial. For rendering purposes, you can download some plug-ins that are compatible with Sketchup, like Vray and Podium. It's been awhile since I have used them, but I believe it's possible to get free trials as well. There are plenty of tutorials available for these programs online. Good luck and have fun! **Q: I’m trying to improve this family room.** *(in Home Decorating)* I am trying to make this room look better. Can anyone help me with this room. The rug is going and the two samples near the sectional I am considering. I can also return the coffee table and end table. The chair belongs in my other room but I was testing it in here. I am willing to paint or any other changes. A: Good morning, If you aren't afraid of a little color, I would suggest an accent color pulled from whichever rug you decide to go on the wall with the painting, probably a darker/bighter color like the maroon. Alternatively, you could match the white of the built-in cabinets onto that wall. I think what you need most in this room is more contrast since there is a lot of beige/tan with the wall and the couch. Another way that you could freshen up this room is by refacing the fireplace/installing a wood mantle. I'm not sure if that's within the budget, but it would definitely change the feel of the space. If you are looking for inexpensive bedding, Ikea has an option for a white duvet that is lightly patterned and feminine. Urban Outfitters also has this option, but it is more expensive. I would suggest looking at Ikea, Urban Outfitters, and maybe Anthropologie (although more expensive) for curtains. They will have items that fit what you are looking for! **Q: bedroom decor help** *(in Home Decorating)* I need help with my bedroom. I bought a nice light aqua/seafoam green quilt (I'm missing a euro pillow right now) and art (not yet hung) for over the bed. As you can see my furniture is a grey/brown.
