Paul was terrific to work with: always polite, full of practical design ideas, yet very respectful of my wishes, returning all of my phone calls and e-mail questions 24/7 and sent photos along the way. He provided great vendor sources for me to pick out cabinets, appliances, plumbing fixtures and countertop stone and splashes, as well as helping with paint colors and hardwood floor choices. New kitchen and bath ceiling fan vents were installed, as well as all new recessed LED lighting and a few mini-pendant lights for the kitchen counter. I highly recommend Paul for his talent, his vision and his professionalism and budget mindedness and getting the job done as scheduled with beautiful results, as I had flown out to Manhattan to inspect the apartment when it was completed. For professionals, the time it takes to sort, confirm, assemble, go back for missing parts, mount, true up, fill odd spaces, reorder fillers that weren't accounted for... we can have an entire kitchen demolished, framed and readied for better quality cabinets, customize to the quarter inch, and install the appliances fit to a tee. We find that those who select IKEA over others are usually those looking to save pennies at the expense of the contractor, looking for Euro styles (hi gloss, metal or glass components) that others may not carry, or require little need for customization to fit in odd or small city-like spaces. For those DIY-ers, I wonder how much longer it takes when they realize the walls aren't, flat, square or true?
