> We have had the pleasure to work with Peter Cohen of Trillium Enterprises, Inc. for the past year. His associates completely updated our 1968 Jack Warner designed home. Consequently, our new home is very, very comfortable, dramatic and affords us easy living.
>
> Peter Cohen is honest, faithful, responsive and very caring in his approach to his work. It has been a very comfortable working relationship. I highly recommend Trillium Enterprises Inc. for your next project.

> I am delighted to have the opportunity to write a review for Trillium Enterprises. I have worked with this company for numerous projects (remodeling construction, restoration, tiling, upgrading of electrical and plumbing, and water damage repair), at a number of different properties, over the last 8 years. Each person on the crew has been professional, skilled and extremely responsible. The work is of the highest quality, and the work site is always left in pristinely clean condition. The shining star of my many experiences with Trillium, however, is the owner/contractor, Peter Cohen. He has been a fabulous asset to each of my projects. Ever positive, creative, skilled and kind, he is a wizard of problem solving and of project coordination. I am grateful that I have chosen to work with Trillium, and I imagine that you will be, too.

> Our contractor for Trillium, Peter Cohen, is a champ! His remodel of our old, and as we discovered, poorly built house involved many surprises as the house turned up one dark secret after another. Peter was always up to the challenge, jumping on problems with energy, resourcefulness, focused attention to detail, and constant good humor. He worked \*with\* us, listening closely to be sure he understood what we wanted. And his depth of experience has allowed him, over the years, to cull a set of exceptional subs who clearly respect him. In short, he loves his job and it shows.

> I own a Bistro in Carpinteria California. I had been searching for a crew to put noise abatement in my Bistro for the last few years. The high ceilings and windows made the spot architecturally attractive; However, the noise made it difficult to hear while enjoying a our wonderful fare. Through a mutual friend I was lucky enough to meeting and work with Peter Cohen, owner of Trillium Enterprises. After looking at the project and my goals Peter brought in a sound engineer to evaluate if the project was viable. In a short amount of time we were able to determine the project would work and the cost was within the budget I had set.
> I can't say enough about how easy Peter made the project. I enjoyed working with him and look forward to working with him again in the near future Doralee S. Jacobson, Owner of Jacks Bistro & Famous Bagels.

> After living in our home for over 20 years and raising 3 children it was time for a remodel. We were introduced to Peter Cohen at Trillium Enterprises Inc. by a close relative. He hired Peter to do an extensive and very complicated remodel. The end result was beautiful.
> We phoned Trillium and set up an appointment. At this point we needed to have foundation work done, repair and replace saltillo tiles and a brick front patio. We also wanted to remodel 3 full bathrooms. Under Peter's close supervision we had the opportunity to work with his fantastic group of professionals. They are all impeccable craftsmen who are proud of their work, extremely neat and kind. There were many challenges since our home was built over 30 years ago. Peter and his team solved these problems and never wavered in their commitment to see that the job would get done properly. Confidence and a great attitude as well as the high level of professionalism are qualities not easy to come by today. Peter brings all those things with him to the job site every day which makes the whole process of building or remodeling a pleasure.

> My name is Bill Cordero. I am the president of Cordero Painting Company.
>
> When it comes to fine building, we have had the privilege of being part of the "team" with Trillium Enterprises for the last decade. Over the years we have done many projects together ranging from the relatively small bathroom remodel to the much larger 10,000 square foot plus estates of our beautiful Santa Barbara enclave.
>
> When it comes to a project management, Trillium and, more specifically, Peter Cohen (principle) have been nothing but professional on all levels from start to finish. As a subcontractor, I have been treated with respect and crystal clear communication. Both are crucial to an efficient and successful build out.
>
> What I can say to any potential client is that if you require excellence, elegance, and beauty coupled with top tier management and quality control, select Trillium Enterprises for your next construction project.

**★★★★★ — kbarilla2014, Feb. 2014**

> Peter runs a fantastic company.I have worked with he and his clients for over 9 years and what I have observed is a focused ,creative cutting edge builder. He truely listens to his clients and turns their dreams into sometime an even better reality than they ever thought possible because he keeps up with the times which is ever changing! His projects run on time and from what his happy clients have shared on budget and ahead of scheduel.
> He is a dream client for me.I sell plumbing and appliances!

> As an architect working on a commercial remodel, I met and worked with Peter Cohen of Trillium Enterprises in 2007 and again on a 2013 condo remodel. I was immediately impressed with his almost tunnel vision focus on customer service. He's available nearly all hours of the day and works hard to provide a finished product that will exceed the client's expectations. His subcontractors are all top notch folks who reflect Peter's attitudes. He thoroughly evaluates his bids to include unforeseen items and tries to anticipate what the drawings might inadvertently leave out. When questions arise, his desire is consistently to work with the client to arrive at a mutually acceptable solution instead of butting heads and trying to win an argument. I look forward to working with Peter on more projects.

**★★★★★ — menchkin, Feb. 2014**

> We have used Trillium on projects large and small since 2008. Superior project management, reliable and talented employees and subcontractors. Competitive bids. The General Contractor is always responsive (24/7) and has cost effective and creative ideas. Impressed with Trillium's pro-activity, follow through and management style.

**★★★★★ — ALEX'S TILE WORKS INC, Feb. 2014**

> Our experience for the 20 plus years we've been involved with Trillium Enterprises has been rewarding professionally and personally. As an artisan company in tile and stone, we appreciate their attention to detail and client service. We always know ahead of time what is expected of us, and that is appreciated by both contractor and client. If the schedule demands are extreme, it has never failed to be completed to date. Their integrity has been beyond reproach.

**★★★★★ — donaldgordon, Feb. 2014**

> As a Sub contractor we have worked with Trillium Enterprises on many projects over the past 15 years. We have found the quality of their product to be among the best in our local industry. Trillium's business practices are fair to both their clients and sub contractors. I have recommended Trillium to many of my acquaintances for general contracting services.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Spiraltreppe** *(in Photo Questions)*

Ich würde wirklich gerne eine ähnliche spiralförmige Treppe selbst bauen.
Wüsste aber garnicht welches Material sich dafür eignet bzw wie man da vorgeht.
Hat jemand eine Idee ?

A: We used thin strips of popler wood soaked in water and then laminated around a cardboard tube. We continued that process until we had a 6" wide ramp. Then we removed the cardboard tube from center, repeated the process of soaking wood in water and attaching the edges. Then sanded and painted. Took about 6 weeks to manufacture.

**Q: Is that a granite or marble butcher top at far end of island?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Do you have another photo of the end of island with better view of marble top?

A: That is marble inlaid into the butcher block. I am sorry but I do not have a better view of it. I am also sorry for this late reply. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at peter@TrilliumOnline.com

**Q: What types of plants are in this entryway?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I see lots of live plants, and since this is a home to many cats I am assuming the plants are pet-safe. Can anyone tell me which types of plants were used in this home?

A: Hello Elli, I am sorry for this late reply. In fact the only criteria I have ever used in selecting plants was to not buy any with long thin leaves/needles. The cats destroy these type of plants. Plants with big leaves do best. I have never had any cat become sick from chewing on any of the plants in our house. Peter

**Q: Can you please explain your litter box room set up?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am a veterinarian and currently have 8 kitties. We will be remodeling soon and would like to have a room dedicated to the litter boxes. Does your room have multiple entrances and exits? How do the older kitties do with the shelving system? Thank you!

A: We try to make all the litter closets have at least 2 ways in or out. We have found with a large cat population they do not like to get cornered and some of the shyer cats will not enter areas with only one way in/out. Where design allows we have 3 ways. Cats like privacy to use the bathroom but cannot be a trap. While almost all the cats are able to climb the shelves to use the litter boxes, as they get older we sometimes have to put a box on the floor of the cabinets. We listen to the cats and always adjust things as needed. Sometimes a cat or cats will not stop peeing on the floor somewhere. After trying many things and failing to change the habit, we ended up installing another litter box right where she kept peeing. Meaning sometimes you cannot win and have to find a way to accommodate them. All the litter closets have quiet continuous fans that exhaust air to the outside. This keeps negative air pressure and the smell never flows back into the house. We use Panasonic ultra quite fans in many of the closets.

**Q: Spiral catwalk?** *(in Photo Questions)*

May I ask what the spiral walkway is made from and how the plastic was twisted without snapping. Assuming main support is a dancing pole or lighting pole from Ikea, then wrapped in rope. It's a fabulous kitty hangout. I too adore Siamese - your's are beautiful - so happy you adopted them!

A: The spiral was made by laminating thin strips of wood that had been soaked in water around a 12" diameter cardboard tube. This process took several weeks. Then the wood ramp was sanded and a wood edge was attached using same water soaking method.

**Q: Security** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is this a security desk/camera room of the house? Just wondering why all the monitors...

A: Actually this is just my home office. I have two computers each with two monitors. Just gives me lots of screen real estate .
