We plan to put in 2-3 base cabinets along this wall to support a desk top of some kind. My question: do we install the beadboard first, or do we install the cabinets and put the beadboard around the cabinets? Why? Put another way, if we got cabinets with an open back, with option 1, you'd see the beadboard on the wall when you opened the cabinets. Option 2 would be bare wall. I'm not looking for preferences on aesthetics here, I'm looking for what is correct in order of operations for this type of installation. Thank you!!! Do you think this is another type of wood with a wenge stain? If so, do you know what it is. I appreciate your replies. Thanks! A: If your planning on doing a European style kitchen like you have in the picture, I would go with a laminate version of wenge, it will be more consistent in color. if you are looking for more of a traditional cabinet style yes you would probably do well with using real wenge. but any qualified painting contractor should be able to glaze and stain to make it all look the way you want in that regard. --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
