The u-shape is making my choice more difficult. **Q: Red brick ranch help!** *(in Design Dilemma)* Just purchased this home, the perennials are just coming in and windows will be first to be replaced. Any ideas are appreciated! A: I would suggest you remove the bed closest to the sidewalk all together and re sod or re seed that area. Doing this will make the landscape a bit more cohesive and allow the tree behind it to be focal. I would also suggest removing the tree against the front porch and planting that bed with several evergreen shrubs that will provide year long interest. **Q: Help with curb appeal** *(in Design Dilemma)* I need some serious help with the our cub appeal! We love our house, but not the outside (especially not the red!). We can't rationalize changing the soffits, eves, etc just yet, so looking for other ways to make it look less boring, less red and give it some character so it is more welcoming and doesn't look like every other house on our block! A: Yes, this is a great idea! **Q: how can I brighten up my attic bedroom with a small window?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have decided to paint the paneling in the attic and make it into a bedroom, there are no ceiling fixtures and I use a table/floor lamp for lighting. I am thinking to paint the entire room since it looks like a cabin retreat...someone anyone HELP!! A: I would paint the ceiling white and then do a soft grey color for the walls.
